The original Diablo was the first PC game I had ever played, certainly the reason I am here writing today, VERY addicting. The game is close to my heart.

D2 was even better!

They are 2 of the best games ever for sure, but there are some better ones out there, not many though.

I mean, it survived so many years and ppl are still playing diablo 2, I can even say alot of ppl..

Make that DOOM 2 and I'd agree with you.

I don't think that if a game can be rendered utterly redundant by any game, it can be called the best game. Diablo 2 makes Diablo utterly redundant.

It may have been the best game in its day (in its genre anyway, not that it had many competitors before or since), but it has been far too outclassed to the point of pointlessness.

I used to think of Gauntlet as one of the all time greats, but Diablo rendered it redundant, and Diablo 2 rendered Diablo redundant. Diablo 3 may do the same to Diablo 2.

The greatest games are, in my opinion, irreplaceable - or, at least they are the games that have not yet been replaced.

There are many people out there that agrees with you. But i sure ain't one of them. :P

Its one of the best.. But I can't pin a single title as the overall best, maybe Freespace 2 in my book.. But its a huge list and Diablo would be at the bottom of it..
