Should I download the regular Amazon version or the Steam DRM version?

Personally, I would grab Steam's version. Having the steam layout would help with locating friends so you could play online. Social Club doesn't really get in the way so you'll be okay. But if you don't care for multiplayer, either version would be fine, really. To my knowledge, I haven't read of any issues with either versions.

Oh ok, fair enough, I have yet decided to play the multiplayer, I'll see after playing the campaign.

Nice!

I'm on the fence about Spec Ops since it would suck up like 1/5 of my Summer Sale budget I've made (I set aside $150 for Steam/Amazon sales), but I am REALLY interested in it and can't rent it until I'm back in my home country two months from now.

The Darkness II is more likely something I'm interested in, I played the hell out of the first on PS3 so I originally wanted II on PS3 as well (if at all considering the lukewarm reviews), but I guess switching platforms for a series I'm familiar with on another system isn't the worst thing in the world (though its not really something that benefits vastly on PC like other graphically demanding or more PC centric titles). Still, $13 seems a bit much for something I wanted to nab on Ebay for $5 at some point in the future.

Hmm, tough choices. Its too bad they won't put the first Condemned game up there, that stupid getgamesgo site won't let me buy it. I guess that might be my fault in something I did trying to buy it, but still, I REALLY want that game.

I'd say Max Payne actually doesn't need Steam as much except for the incredible simplicity in having it with your other Steam titles and getting it auto patched and stuff like that. All the multiplayer stuff is done through Social Club, including invites and knowing which of your friends are online.

Of course I'd still grab the Steam version because of the other stuff I mentioned.

The Darkness 1 and 2 are totally different. I was somewhat disappointed with The Darkness 2. It's a solid game, but not great.

If you mean by Layout you mean "Shift+Tab" right?

You don't need to download the game on Steam to get that.

Just Add "Non Steam Game" to your list and it'll give you the overlay anyway.

If anyone's thinking about getting the Paradox bundles, you want to get the two smaller ones rather than the bigger one. You get more games for the same money.

How fast is the download through Amazon? My Steam download speed is always impressive, but I have never downloaded anything through Amazon before.

I get the same speed with Amazon.com as I do Steam, GamersGate, GoG.com, GreenManGaming, which are FAST download speeds. Approximately the same, for me.

I just bought it. Something about the demo made me think it would be better than your average TPS, I'm really looking forward to playing through it. This statement gives me hope, especially coming from someone who liked Max Payne 3

I'm going to hold off on MP3. Tempting at this price, but I think I will just put it in my rental queue for the console version. I'm just not in the mood to make room for 35Gb. And given all the FEAR games and others from the past several years, bullet time has played its course. Even after reading most of the postive reviews, nothing is jumping out screaming "OMG, buy this game it's GOTY material". Multiplayer does not interest me, so I am not paying for that.

MP3 is unplayable on consoles unless you have no self-respect and are willing to put up with horrible controls just to save some money.

I don't understand why people complain about bullet time. What, it's not hip to say you like it anymore? Who the hell doesn't like bullet time?!

There is room for improvement though: how about some bullet curving for Max Payne 4?

Omgz it's another Gears Clone! It has cover system so other games should never be allowed to do the same! Ever!. The game is good though, and deserves at least an 8.0, imho.

Are you saying from personal experience with this game on a console, specifically the 360? Or are you just acting the fanboy part? I have read many of the reviews and there are no indications that the console version of this game has controls that are worse than any other decent shooter on the console. I'm a pc gamer at heart and still partial to pc games, but I am also open-minded enough to enjoy games on different platforms. I don't play the fanboy game with any platform.

Even at this price, I am not paying $30 for singleplayer only (not interested in the mulitplayer) and for primarily just another romp with bullet time. And at 35Gb, it is evident there are many cutscenes. If they are that great, I can just watch them on YouTube, and wait to play the actual game when I am more desperate from something to play.

I tried it with a 360 controller because many console impressions said it's too hard and pulling off awesome moves gets you killed. I wanted to see it for myself. This was clearly not balanced with consoles in mind. It's challenging and requires accuracy a controller can't provide. You have to play it safe with a controller, while on PC you can Matrix your way through the game.

Well as the guys over at Head-Fi would say "Sorry about your wallet." Im going to be spending alot of money. I have just delved in PC gaming and I have boughten Bioshock 1+2 as well as Borderland GOTY. Pumped for my PC:D. And does anybody know if they will have new deals every single day? Or same all the time? Because I used a Amazon gift card and have $15 left and am wondering if I should just buy Mafia II (Have wanted for a long time but would rather have a game like Mass Effect or The Witcher.) So will they have new games tomorrow? Or no? And I have $70 put away for the Steam Summer Sale:cool:

CK2 is amazing. There is a lot of strategy involved and it allows you to play as anybody from the lowliest count to the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. It also has an ASOIAF mod which is pretty good. The SP is great, but the MP is even better if you can find a game on the forums. For $10 I would definitely recommend it.

MP3 is unplayable on consoles unless you have no self-respect and are willing to put up with horrible controls just to save some money.

Baranga

Are you saying from personal experience with this game on a console, specifically the 360? Or are you just acting the fanboy part? I have read many of the reviews and there are no indications that the console version of this game has controls that are worse than any other decent shooter on the console. I'm a pc gamer at heart and still partial to pc games, but I am also open-minded enough to enjoy games on different platforms. I don't play the fanboy game with any platform.

Beat it within a week, on hard, on my ps3, using manual aim... not sure I see the problem here.
