[QUOTE="JohnF111"] Erm.. what? Maybe if you didn't jump on anyone who even dares to mention AMD in something other a "AMD are gods among men" then possibly... just maybe a 3 page thread would have ended up with a "Oops sorry my bad!" instead of you being a jerk about it but then again that's not how fanboys work is it?JohnF111

I don't care as long as people are actually realistic about what they say. I know it is embarrassing to get called out on being as blatantly wrong and biased as your post was.

The truth is, there is little need for any processor from either company over 100-150 dollars. So why all the pro intel propaganda? There is no reason for it and all the pro intel favoritism is going to lead to a one player market at which point we are all going to suffer.

A calm discussion of the pros and cons of each is fine by me, but total misrepresentations are bad for everyone.

I simply stated that this talk about 8 cores is misleading, I didn't say it was a terrible chip I just mentioned how people seem to think of it as 8 core. That is all. The rest however was wrong I admit :P Also biased? How so? I don't recall saying "Ahahaha the chip is crap and worseless get an Intel, even a Pentium 4!!"

It is 8 core, what are you talking about?

After displaying such a lack of understanding, do you really want to travel down that road?

How does any of this pertain to x86?

GummiRaccoon

You said multicore processors, not the first x86 multiprocessor. Did amd take the multicore processor idea and apply it to x86? Yes. Was the multicore processor idea theirs? No.

I see your point. I will put x86 in all of my posts for now on, even though no one has any reason to talk about anything other than consumer level processors on this forum.

wow, didn't know AMD made the first multi core x86 processor. Too bad they suckd so bad at it that intel passed them up fairly quickly. But I do have to give props to AMD, they push innovation since they're David against intel that is Goliath. Its the only way they can survive. I don't have AMD cpu's in my desktops but I make a point of getting AMD based laptops and support them when I can. Even though their cpu's suck, I don't want them to go belly up...

I heard the cores are arranged in a fist shape.
