No the first phenoms were terrible and at stock will bottleneck high end cards, overclocking them is a chore and you would be really lucky to get one to go 400mhz more than its stock settings. Whats your price range?... or is this a CPU from a prebuilt system, either way stay away from it. Maybe Im exadurating they weren't terrible at the time, they were "GOOD" but now they shouldn't even be considered.

hi there mate how about this for a gaming rig Mesh Home Desktop PC, Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, ATI HD4850, Vista Home Premium it has a 400w psu by the way

Depends on the price of that product, but I highly doubt it will be as cheap as building your own just just as ultimategamer mentioned

Its not the worst you could do, but there are alot of better options now.
