This usually happens after I've been playing a game but my computer will freeze up for about 10 seconds or so and then unfreeze. I then get a little message in the bottom right hand corner saying "The video driver has stopped working but has corrected itself" or something along those lines. Is this strictly an AMD issue?

I never had this problem with any of my Nvidia cards.

basically what happened is amd's bloatware vision center encountered a known bug and corrected itself. i recommend re-installing the latest revision to see if this corrects things i had this happen once or twice with my old 5830. and its actually normal for it to fix itself and yes i agree when it does happen it can be annoying but its actually pretty smart. basically what it does is it restarts the vision center when it encounters a bug or issue during normal operation. if nvidia cards have such a situation it doesnt restart. however ive never heard of it constantly doing this which is why i recommend re-installation of latest revision

Have you monitored your GPU temp while gaming?

Here comes the AMD guy to try and cover up an AMD issue and get some good old Nvidia bashing nonsense in! (Nvidia drivers can recover by the way for people wondering, this is just bad information again)

Where did you hear that nvidia drivers just crash and don't relaunch? That's a bit silly tbh, my gtx 460 would do what TC is describing except only during desktop usage.

Yeah I had this issue with my 460, it turned out to be a conflict with several versions of flash.

not once did i say this happens i said that IF this should happen and nvidia panel fails they have no auto-restart feature for it. or rather i am unaware of any such feature and the drivers themselves dont fail this specifically is the vision control software failing which in reality is jsut hardware specific bloatware

Edit* I now see you claim the problem TC is having would just be Catalyst Control Center crashing, which I doubt. At least if it's the same crash I've gotten once or twice with my cards.

I have seen the error you're talking about TC. The only time I've ever encountered what you are talking about is when I was overclocking my videocards and due to instability they had to be reset mid-game. I wonder if you are having stability issues, what PSU are using? Are you overclocking?

I've actually has a decrease in display driver problems since getting an AMD card. It's definitely not just an AMD problem, but a problem with video drivers all around.

Just stop talking man. Seriously you will use anything to try and talk bad about a company that isnt AMD.
