Do you prefer using AMD or INTEL processors? 8)

I've had good experiences with both. It all depends how much money I have to work with. Right now I'll be using amd for a while since I've already invested with an am3 board. Come upgrade overhaul time though we'll see whats on the market.
I have used AMD mostly so I prefer them. Duckman5I am the opposite, i used intel mostly but this year i got my first AMD processor powered machine. I LOVE IT. :)
It doesn't matter for me, but I went with AMD because it was cheaper and was a powerful quad core cpu for less than $200

JUst so you know Core 2 duo in test was E8400 E0 Stepping : Phenom II X4 965 C3 : and Core i7 was a Core i7 920 C0 Stepping
I have E8600 which just come in one varient : E0 Stepping so i can oc at around 4.3ghz if i want tough i haven't perform oc Yet cause i'm stock 3.3Ghz and according test IT PRETTY good ;) just came to mythbusted this thing about cpu preference :)
I agree, AMD does give you more for you money.Intel's not getting my money for my CPU upgrade. Just too darn expensive.

I am sure they will be devistated :P.
Picked up my i7 920 D0 at Microcenter today, so Intel gets my money again for the next 2-3 years. For $217.50 after tax it's also probably the cheapest cpu I have ever purchased, so even though AMD has some great prices, I think Intel still offers great bang for buck too unless you're on a very tight budget.

[QUOTE="BeavermanA"]Your going to love the 920. Yea I have to wait for my board to come out tho :(. I'd get the Gigabyte X58A UD7 now, but it's going to look like crap with its blue and white layout. The red and black Asus Rampage III Extreme will look good in the 800D with the Dominator GT dimms. I'll leave the cpu sealed in case the i7 930 turns out to be even better, had to jump on that deal at MC.Picked up my i7 920 D0 at Microcenter today, so Intel gets my money again for the next 2-3 years. I've only experience the low end on each side, you know, Celerons and Semprons. From my experience thusfar, I prefer AMD by a long shot. The 4 year old computer in the other room has a 1.8GHz Sempron 3200+ which outperforms my 2.0GHz Celeron on most anything.mercuryblade09You can get AMD duel processors real cheap now and they kick intel celerons ass i can tell you that much... although belive it on not celeron played Guild Wars just fine on my cheap $300 emachine computer. I didn't have a graphics card or anything.
my last 3 CPUs including the one ive got now have been AMD. before that i had several intels, P1, P2, P4(478 socket), P4(775 socket). i go with AMD for there good price but i am privy to i7s dominance on pure power, if your willing to pay the price you get the performance.
Depends on the budget i have to work with, at the moment i'ld go for an AMD X2 then unlock it to a quad.markop2003You do realise that the cores are locked because they are faulty right? Also, in doing that you completely void the warranty of the cpu and will more likely than not have stability issues with your cpu.

At the moment i prefer Intel because for the last couple of years they have have been making the best CPU's out there...but if AMD suddenly started making the best CPU's then i would prefer AMD.
[QUOTE="kaitanuvax"]I agree, AMD does give you more for you money. Actually as of now Intel offers the same if not better price/performance in most of the price ranges. I think AMD still hold the crown for real budget CPU's though with their Athlon II X2's.Intel's not getting my money for my CPU upgrade. Just too darn expensive.

I prefer AMD, but I picked up my first Intel this year (i7 920) as I got it dirt cheap. Ya know, you can read benchmark after benchmark and see Intel is usually the leader. If you are all for the numbers, go intel. If you want a heck of a bang for your buck and honestly not noticemuch of adifference, go AMD. I judge my CPUs by real world use and make my decision from there.
I'm not brand loyal. I just go with the best bang for the buck. If you would of asked me before AMD's new line of Phenom II's and AMD processors came out I would of said Intel. Reigning champ was the Core 2 Duo line... Phenom I line wasn't up to par... then the Phenom II's came out.
Bang for your buck a Phenom II is still champ in my books. The new intel line just seems too expensive for what you get in return.
That seems like a pretty reasonable opinion on the matter.I prefer AMD, but I picked up my first Intel this year (i7 920) as I got it dirt cheap. I use both platforms, on different computers. AMD has a better price point. I like them both, though.

Gaming is all I do so straight up I'm an AMD guy love my 720 x3 BE
My whole group of friends converted to my setup after I got it lol. We have 4 rigs all with Asus AM3 mobos, 4GIG DDR3 Gskill, and an AMD Tri/Quad core and it's freaking awesome.
What do you make the L1 cache out of? I make mine out of clingfilm but it keeps having memory leaks.Neither, I use my home-made processor, built with common household items!
