Annoying Youtuber gets new Amnesia early...

Just a heads up for you guys - The insufferable "pewDiePie" somehow got his hands on Amnesia: A machine for pigs weeks before its official release date in what seems to be a marketing stunt of some kind. Now I understand this will give the game the kind of exposure that Frictional Games would have to spend a fortune to achieve themselves, but I can't help but feel they're whoring their game out to this guy considering his videos undermine everything the game sets out to achieve.

How do you guys feel about this? I wont link to the video, but it's on youtube so you can search for it yourself if you want, otherwise, just watch out for spoilers.

Well he did give a lot of publicity to Amnesia...

plus there were many Youtubers that got early access to games like Totalbiscuit with Planetside 2.

Made the game look fun, and games are suppose to be fun.

They havent really made great games though.... I mean amneaia was there first hit but even then it wasn't that big. Imo Penumbra: Requiem is a better game it just didn't have to publicity back in the day to sell coppies. Penumbra: Black Plague was the beta test.Travis_Odell

I dont want to click the link because I cant stand that idiot. He is the most annoying person on Youtube. More annoying than all those fanboys arguing over which console is better and Angry Joe COMBINED.

Well if it gets more sales then it's a good thing, as long as they don't go all mainstream and lose their roots. Just don't watch his vids or even acknowledge he exists if you don't like him, just think soon you'll be playing one hell of a scary game.

I don't think so - or at least why I found it funny isn't why a 13-year old kid would find it funny. It's definitely not humor for kids. Unless 13 year olds find poking fun at YouTubers who whore themselves funny, but I'd be guessing they'd be busy watching the Youtubers that actually do 'whore' themselves out to Youtube.

but this video indicates an exponential amount of talent compared to the usual YouTuber.

Anyway, I've never seen a video of the guy but swearing a lot and all those 'dirty' words would be perfect if you have young adolescents as your viewers :P

I've watched his the Last of Us playthrough and he was less annoying. I can understand why people could find him obnoxious though.

I have no idea who this fellow is. If it's one of those unfunny tosers who attempt to act scared like it's comedy gold then i wont watch it anyway. Only way this will effect me personally is if some bozo trolls and shouts out spoilers. Which would be the fault of the developer and publisher for releasing it early.

I don't mind these videos, so long as the makers don't barge in forums I visit and make their first post a link to some video.  

If the person is tasteful about it, maybe their YouTube name in their sig or something, I saw more power to them.  They have to eat too, though I don't understand the internet well enough to understand how they make even a single penny doing such a thing.  :lol:
