Steam has been crap the last two or three days. I keep getting DC'd for no reason from the community. Whatever they are doing, they need to STOP updating at peak hours and do it in the morning.krazyorangePeak hours for whom though?

Given that Valve is a US company, it would only be logical to cater to our schedules. I realize they are on Pacific time, but even then, late afternoon and evening are peak hours.

Maybe I guess they are doing updates in peak hours cause it's when they are working....lol.
do you really want a stupid intern messing with your mission critical servers at 7am .... Next we hear you complaining because of Valve's "stupid" choice to use a sleepy stupid intern at 7am and breaking the whole thing for 2 days, instead of doing it themselves. some people can never be pleased :(ColdfireTrilogyLol, nice one. I can just see the picture of the noob intern. "Hmmmm, now did he say press Update on Port 2345, or press Sync on Port 6932....?? I'll guess" .... STEAM SERVERS DOWN !!! CRITICAL MELTDOWN !!!

I have installed and uninstalled no less than 400 times worth of steam games, no exaggeration.[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="kozzy1234"]Or like me this morning.... went to uninstall RUSE Demo and I somehow finished uninstalling all of steam....lol... Yeah my bad, I "wrongfully" used REVO Uninstaller to install a STEAM game....should never be done (great for uninstalling everything else though).
WOW, 400 ??? WTF for...?
Steam by all means isn't the worst thing ever but I prefer to patch games on my own and avoid huge and long downloads. And I really do not like the fact that a program is running in the background while a play my games, every single time I want to play that game. People will defend it because Valve is the creator of steam. I love Valve for creating some of the best games to ever grace this planet but if I could choose, I would rather do without STEAM.Elann2008Yeah, depends on the game and what additional things you want. Lots of people play their games and at the same time have their friends list open in case a friend logs in and wants to join etc etc....

It's like the PC's Xbox Live. :)
