Any good Cold 'war based games???

Operation flashpoint

I can't wait till the second one comes out. Look freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Operation Flashpoint is the very best. I wish more games looked to that one for inspiration.GodLovesDead

The game is a buggy mess for me and many others, but it was a boatload of fun and for all purposes it is Operation Flashpoint 2 lol

I highly recommend it, just expect some problems running it

because it would be identical to BF2.

Except no Chinese army, and the Arab army would be replaced by Russians.

Gameplay, weapons...all would stay the same. Though it would be fun to fight in East Germany, Poland, Ukraine, etc.

I think a cold war BF would be cool. But yeah, the problem would be that the weapons would the same AKs and the vehicles would be the same BMPs and T-series tanks and BTRs and such. Different locales though and maybe the Chinese would get involved. BF2 also didn't have a Hind outside of SF.

With the new beta patch 1.12 many of the bugs at release are fixed.

But I agree if you want a cold war era game, OFP hands down, an amazing game.

It seems like people've already beaten me to the Operation Flashpoint. Armed Assault has the Cold War Rearmed Mod demo currently released, and people are already making things for that. Considering it's coming from the developers, the mod is decent, and you get the original islands that were in OFP.

RTS, no doubt, World In Conflict.

Freedom Fighters left a great impression on me, especially for it's time. I still occasionally play it.

oooh 1.12? i think the most recent I had was 1.08, ill have to give it another try (I couldnt get past one level without the game crashing)

That would be difficult to explain because the Cold War wasn't a war. :o But if you mean a spin on the events in which a war was actually started, then that would be cool.
