Any word on Black Mesa release?

It doesn't seem like there been anything since 09 but I look through the comments at the moddb page and found this:

Raminator, Lead Developer, 08-01-11:
"We weren't able to keep up the pace to finish the game for our 2009 deadline, mostly due to family/work/school commitments. We've been using the extra time since then to improve the mod, reworking large segments of it, going over a lot of the core stuff; all on a smaller team than before. There's not a lot left to go, we're basically just fixing and improving things. "

CatzEyes93, Developer, 15-01-11:
"The next official notice the public will see is the soundtrack being made available. This is the indicator that it is coming as in ... it is coming within the next few weeks. Other than that, the team is not going to offer any more info."

MichaelTannock, Developer, 21-01-11:
"The game is more or less complete, and we can release any time we decide beta testing is complete!"

sounds like real life has occured for these poor folks.

I would not hold your breath; if you think theyre gonna give Black Mesa priority over their real careers, family, and education than youre fooling yourself :P

I've been looking forward to this mod for years. If it comes out soon like that comment above says, fantastic. But I'm not holding my breath.

I understand the whole "Beggars cant be choosers" dilemna that occurs in this situation

but the simple fact is that they have chosen to make a product and gave us release dates for years now and have failed to deliver it.

when someone says they are going to do something, and they do not do it, we have every right to be at least mildly upset about it.

with that said, I dont think anyone should be making a big deal out of it. ITs not like there are plenty of free and/or inexpensive games and mods to play while we wait the next ten years :P
