anyone else getting trash fps in bioshock?

look, i just installed windows xp installed latest driver from nvidia for my geforce 7800 gtx 256 mb , lastest dx9c, drivers everything, installed demo and look at what fps im getting here's my graphics settings 1280x1024 no anti aliasing no v sync.

Around 60-80 fps with everything cranked up to high. No i'm not having any fps problems with the game.A1B2C3CAL

the sticky's not even talking about performance issues,.

Your hardware might not be enough for you to run at the settings you want. You probably want to turn down the graphic detail, shadows and resolution if you want to see better performance.

I guess it varies by system. I don't have a single performance issue and i'm running the game on max at 1920x1080 with even vsync on and the game runs smooth as silk. I haven't run fraps to catch the fps but from how it runs i would predict it's running at least 50.

Friend of mine running almost an identical setup sees some performance hit on his.

Quad core qx6700 @ 2.66hz

2gb pc6400 ram

i get like 30+ fps inside the lighthouse and and in the underwater city, but outside near fire my fps is like 22 fps.

i know one thing that can kill your fps in some games is when you install nvidia drivers, multi gpu sli mode is enabled by default, if you leave it on running 1 card it limits cards output, i made sure im running single display mode, but still to no avail .

i guess the fireshader's are too stressful for the 7800 gtx in that scene so kills fps.

damn i wish my x1800xt 512 mb still worked, i know the fps would of been kick ass with that.

overclocked to 2.7 ghz and framerate still 22 fps near fire spawning .

You're maxing just about everything out and your video card is two years old and youre running it on a single cpu what do you expect?captalchol

my video is card is still a damn good card, it's a freaking 7900 GT.

7900 GT 256 mb clocks are 450/1320

my 7800 gtx 256 mb clocks are 460/1300 stock.

I'm running everything the same as you only in dx10 mode, and im only getting 40-60fps(specs in sig).

Also have you tried playing game the past the spawn point ot see if the performance picks up?

even when overclocking to 490/1400 the framerate was still only 24 fps poor.ps3rulezzggdff

Infact the vast majority of people have been saying this is the best optemized engine out there.. Not saying there isn't anything wrong with the engine but it could be a very simple setting change thats unnoticable in the INI that will give you great performance.. Because in the end if you don't all your doing is crying.

Your computer doesn't meet the recommended requirements for Bioshock. You can't run it on max, sry.

On topic, I do have some problems with framerates, mostly consistency, my X2 4200+ 2GB 8800gtx goes from 80fps to 25 fps and back alarmingly often, usually during fights.

my computer **** surpasses recommended requirements.

bioshock is a sloppy ass console port, my xbox360 runs the bioshock demo so much better than my 7800 gtx does.

the game sucks lol

Then you should realize it could be almost anything, it could be a setting for all you know that the game is not ot ment on.. And yes look at the sticky bioshock thread at the top, many have stated they are getting awesome performance with equivlent or lower specs then yours.. As I say again look into the tech support forum, the mere fact that you are completely ignoring it shows that you have no idea what your talking about.. Maybe you should at least look? For all you know it could be a common problem with a easy fix, but instead your crying the game has sloppy coding.. When the majority of peopl ehave been saying the exact opposite.. Maybe if a large amount of people were saying this I would tend to agree, but they are absolutly not.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo processor (or other Dual Core Processor)

As far as I remember the 7800gtx 256 MB does not have 512mb ram and the AMD 64 3800 is not a dual core processor
