No not the carboard red and blue ones, but some LCD shutter ones for FPS games?

any good? or after 30 years is 3D still a silly gimmick?

All I can picture now is a huge group of people at a Battlefield lan part with red and blue glasses.

But anyway, do they actually make stuff look 3D at all?

many years ago, nvidia had a driver feature for red and blue and I did give medal of honor a try with some glasses. Red and Blue is pretty bad at the best of times. I did have a bit of a "oh wow.... cool, yeah it's 3D" I had to work at really making my brain see the 3D and after a minute or so the "oh wow... yeah it's 3D" effect wore of as my brain quickly accepted this as the norm.

So I guess that's why 3D movies are all pretty straight forward but every 5-10mins they'll have "wow" effect to jolt your brain back into excitement.

So I guess my question is to 3D glasses owner. Do you play games with them off more often than on? Do they only get pulled out of the cupboard when a friend comes round who hasn't had a go of them yet? or is it the only way you play games now? Oh and what games are compatible? how does that work?
