@KHAndAnime: That aweful? eh... or I hope they'll release patch soon, I was wishing for TDU experience on PC for a long time... waiting for patch myself.

Take away all the technical problems and ignore the mediocre online and I say it's a solid 7/10 game, maybe 8/10. Honestly it's just not for me. It's far from a straight-forward racing game, and in the end that's all I really wanted.

Try Forza Apex or Assesto Corsa then, far better racing sims.

I've been playing it at 1080p with only the MSAA not maxed and it run at 60fps. Ok....well, as someone had to be anal about it in SW my frames might dip to 59 or 58fps.

Every blue moon it will dip to low 50's.

I ended up picking up the game. Looks like the patch didn't do much to help performance. The game is heavily CPU bound and the optimization is bad. However, I was able to get the game running really good. I can get it running pretty much a solid 1440p/60fps with the exception of the central street in Surfer's Paradise. It dips into the high 40s and there is some stutter on that street.

I set everything to Ultra and turn off motion blur (hate blur) and leave frame rate smoothing on. Then I reduce the CPU intensive options one level (no noticeable downgrade in image quality). I turn down shadows, reflections, and windshield reflections to high. I am also using 4xMSAA. You must restart the game when you change these settings. Then the most important thing of all... every time you run the game.... go into the windows task manager and set the process priority for the game to low and turn off the affinity of core 0 if you have an i7 processor. You basically want to tweak settings around the level of CPU you have as that will be the bottleneck for most. Feel free to lower the mentioned settings further if you have a weaker CPU than I do. Here are my specs:

i7 3770K @ 4.5 Ghz

16 GB DDR3 2133 Mhz

GTX 1080

Game installed on SSD

I hope this helps others as well as I am now really enjoying this game. However, there is still a lot of work to be done by the dev team in terms of optimizations.

@mr_huggles_dog: I have same but with a 1080gtx and get bad stuttering on this game. Could have something to do with internet speed too?.

I only get slight stuttering.

For example, I just did a 3 race off road championship and didn't notice any stuttering....so if it was there, it was minor.

But at times, if I'm going cross country for a drive, I'll notice a stutter here and there.

On my 144hz monitor when locked fps in game options I only have. 36, 72 and 144 option and not a 60 option. Is that normal?.

Yes that is fine and ideal. You want the game's refresh rate to be a divisible of your monitor's refresh rate. So in this case, 36, 72, and 144 match perfectly.

30Hz and 60Hz don't match up with your monitor's refresh rate.

New patch was released yesterday and it didn't change my performance at all. Still having a blast in the game.

Can't tell if performance for me was any better since I had the game capped at 30 anyway. Still get stutters when framerate is unlocked but I think I might endure it so I don't have to endure the input lag when capped at 30. The input lag makes it harder to control cars that that not designed for offroad racing.

Are you going to play it on the PC? The recommended specs for it is a GTX970.

The GTX960 runs it but barely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PrvcO836rg hence why I said in the other post a GTX970 would probably have been a better investment for a wider range of games to choose from.

@FelipeInside: No, I do most of gaming on consoles... I just play WoW on PC. Hence why I went with a 960.

I'm not made of money, I'm sorry...

Actually PC gaming is cheaper in the long run than consoles, but that's another topic altogether.

Well honestly if you look into the specifics, console gaming hardware is more expensive than PC gaming hardware for what you get.

You can build a gaming PC for roughly the same price as a console yet it will perform better in gaming. Bang for buck kinda thing.

Lately consoles have come down in price but so have PCs.

If you build a very basic starting level gaming PC it's going to cost you a bit more than an XBox or PS4, yet you will get better performance out of it and not to mention all the other benefits that comes from a gaming PC. It's not nonsense, it's bang for buck like I said.

(I'm not a PC fanboy, I game on PS4 too)

Another patch just came out and it feels like the drops and stutters are less harsh. Game felt a little more playable.

Agreed, but still not where it needs to be.

I heard from my friend it's way better now and he recommends me to buy it, would you? or should I wait a month or two more?

@PredatorRules: It depends on what hardware your friend has. If your friend doesn't have the latest and best CPU and GPU I might recommend waiting another month or two.

This latest patch seems to going in the right direction, I just hope they'll keep working on it.

@blangenakker: K, I'll keep waiting a bit more, got to finish some games anyway, while other games are being released soon.
