Because spamming units shouldn't be how an RTS game is played

Rome: Total War or Mediaval: Total War. Try to spam in them and you will soon find yourself dead.

Depending on what RTS it is, usually tactics will defeat someone who spams units. I mean, in AoE I could take down an army of 100 with an army of 50 because I had strategies at how I took them down. Some people say, well that's easy because some units are better for killing these units and so on. Well, I could be Choson and my enemy could be Choson and he could have 100 units of the same thing I had 50 in and still come out victorious.

So, in almost every RTS game, at least all the ones I've played, spamming units isn't as affective has having your units and knowing what to do with them. I can't count how many times in DoW I've come out victorious and then look at the aftermath chart and see how much smaller my army was then the others.

So, I guess to answer your question, DoW and AoE are two RTS games that strategy overcomes spamming units. Now, rushing and spamming units will take someone down who has no strategy, but it will not defeat a strategy player.

I understand where you're coming from. Even the best RTS games (WarCraft) are just advanced paper-rock-scissors. The Total War games would be my suggestion to you as they are more like advanced chess. Definitely give Medieval 2 a try.
