If so, how is it holding up to todays games?

I've got a socket 939 system and the X2 3800+ is the best I can get for around $55. Is it worth it if I overclock it?

I've got an X2 4600+. A fine processor, I've never felt the need to upgrade to a faster processor or get a new computer.

Yes, an X2 3800+ is definitely worth it as a last upgrade for your S939 rig. You should be able to overclock it pretty well, so yeah.. it's a good investment.

I run Crysis and World In Conflict at Medium 30 fps+ at 1280 x 800 with my 1.4 Ghz C2D. Your 3800x2 is fine.

It should run your games "ok". I mean, it all comes down to your settings in the games. I have a socket 939 board myself and I'm running the AMD FX series dual core processor. So you can still upgrade on that board a little bit if you want to get a faster processor for it down the road.

A amd athlon dual core 3800+ 2.0 is mine and it still runs games just fine for me well most of them at least but when it comes down to SC and there are 2 settings on high and the rest is either low or off and the rez is at 1024x768.

I have only had this pc for all most 2 years and it runs fine for now. I don't plan on getting those higher up games like crisis or anything like that. I heard from some one and they told me that my pc is ok not wonderful and then he told me that what is slowing me down a bit is my graphic card wich I have a nvidia 8600gt xxx 256mb and so I said ok an dI'll up to some thing better.

Aside from all of this it is a very good pc in my opion. It is better then my Mom's cause she has a HP intel buy hers is single core and mine is dual. Anyways I could go on and on about why I think this pc is good but no scence making this longer then it needs to be.
