AP got a 6.0

WTF man:( I had hope for this game. What is it with this new trend, sites get excited for a game and keep tracking every little dam thing about and boof at release it get a 6.0 or so.

I never really expected much from it, so for me this means an absolute no to a possible purchase, even tho it's just a single review.

I might buy is later in the future, but for now I'm going to cancel my pre-order.

It looks like a good game brought down by shoddy controls. While the plot elements still look good, I'm not sure I want to get a game I'm just going to get annoyed at due to design issues.

It also got a B+ from 1up

and 88, 85 and 85 from other magazines from other countrys.

The reviews have been all over the place, i suggest trying the game yourself, gamespot isnt the only review site or magazine around.

Power Unlimited (Netherlands foreign big game mag) gave it an 8.4

well I checked IGN, they make great PC reviews, but they still dont have it. Im sure not going to rely on GS :P

Don't trust the reviews, the game is actually very good. I've completed the first part of the game now (Saudi-Arabia) and I haven't had a single bug yet. That's something considering that it's made by Obsidian, lol. Keyboard & mouse controls work perfectly fine and performance is rock solid. Dialog and more importantly choices are a big part of it, or so it has seemed so far. If you like RPGs be sure not to miss it.

I'm waiting for Xfire support to play it lol.

If your on pc either try it at a friends house or just go out on a limb and try it yourself.

Hell, Gamespot was terribly and objectively wrong for years. Deus Ex, nevar forget lol.

i never agree with a kevin vanord review, sometimes by chance I agree with the score but the actual review itself never ever makes sense to me. In general though, reviews mean nothing to me.

Well, what can i say? I hated mass effect in many ways. So the fact that its nothing like it, does not affect me. However i usually agree with Kevin's reviews and i kinda see what he means. They spended all that time to make an average game that looks bad and plays bad with many bugs and problems, plus its pretty unpolished. I guess that would give it a modest 7 but when the game does not have much stuff to do apart from going through diffirent missions and shooting bad guys. You cant really give it a thumbs up for doing shooting/stealth/meele fighting equally bad.dakan45

The people in that other thread seem to have positive impressions of the game, and the other reviews are in the 7-8.9 range, so I'm not gonna rely on GS's review for this one... not that I ever do that for other games :lol:.

Seems most of the problems were bugs and texture pop ins which hopefully are easily rectified in a patch. Doesn't seem anything wrong with the gameplay though aside from some AI problems.

The actual gameplay looks very bland and generic, I trust Kevin when he says the story is interesting but it's not very fun to play in between story segments.

Its simple, watch the GT video review. It looks awful... people saying play the game first, don't let a review decide for you are just kidding themselves, the shooting mechanics are literally broken, GT showed in the vid review that will the stealth route you can eventually walk up to a room of goons and stab them in the face one by one...

The best part are the parts where you aren't playing, rather you are making dialauge decisions. It's broken... It's a shame, but to say otherwise is just foolish...

Counter-Strike Condition Zero - The most addicting multiplayer game I have ever played with awesome visuals. Gamespot's Score: 6.8 My Score: 10

Call of Duty World at War - It felt really boring, and easy to me. Gamespot's Score: 8.5 My Score: 6

Conclusion: Badly scored games can in fact be amazing, and be a lot of fun, since reviews are all opinion.
