A new trademark filing by Apple suggests that the iPod maker may be considering developing a handheld gaming unit.

----The trademark application, filed on February 5 and uncovered byTrademork, appears to lend credence to rumors that Apple is going to make a more serious play in the gaming market. The filed application covers "Toys, games and playthings, namely, hand-held units for playing electronic games; hand-held units for playing video games; stand alone video game machines; electronic games other than those adapted for use with television receivers only; LCD game machines; electronic educational game machines; toys, namely battery-powered computer games." While the application may be no more than a move by Apple to cover its bases, it can nevertheless be interpreted as a sign that Apple intends to boost its involvement in the gaming space in one form or another, which is hardly a surprise considering the company's success with handheld devices.-----

i bet you anything if its true it will be an outstanding gaming machine
