are better cpus worth the money?

is it worth it to spend the extra 50 on the better processor? or can my current handle my computer well enough. im hoping to play bioshock on high.

can tell u now that the 1st one will be a hell of a lot faster, u would want a 2.8ghz for a games with good graphics like bioshock

If you already have the X2 4600+, no need to get a new processor. The rest of your system is good, Bioshock doesn't seem all that demanding, from what some of my friends are saying. Some of them ran Bioshock on high @ 1280x1024 with a 7600GT. Your X1950XT is much more powerful than a 7600GT. :)

i dont have it yet but im getting it in the very near future. i might also want to play crysis but idk. is the extra cpu power worth the extra 50?

if your running just one card then no its not really worth it just get the x2 4600 and upgrade later

i suggest getting the 4600+ and then getting the new AMD cpu's which would fit on an AM2 board. the difference is not mind blowing probably like 2-5 fps max.

Get 4600+, you will upgrade later for AMD quad probably

Crysis=overrated. not too much of a story behind it just you saying wow, wow! look at those textures!
