Are cordless/wireless mice good for gaming?

Currently I have a cheap A4Tech wired mouse and I plan to get a decent Microsoft or Logitech mouse. I don't know if wireless will be good for gaming! I have tried some mice that belong to my friends and I think they are lagging.

Can you also recommend a good mouse at about $25-30 max? And can you also say something about battery life? It's irritating to think that I will have to pay for something that I never had to think about (batteries for my mouse!).

i have no problem whit my cordles mice ,playing games all day(Early retired:) and only have to change my battery's once a month.

also logitech has a few cordless gaming mice

I now use a wired mouse and keyboard. But I used to use wireless, and I never noticed any lag or problems as I have heard many people complain about. I don't know if they were using crappy wireless mouses or if I just don't notice the lag and stuff.

And for the batteries I used rechargeables, which did not last as long, but still lasted at least a month or more.

if you are going wireless for gaming the only one that comes to mind is the logitech g7.

i preffer wired myself, dont have batteries or anything else to worry about, i usually find them abit more responsive, and i like really high sensetivities that only a few wired mice could give me.
