Battlefield 2142 is totally multiplayer, not really co-op but you can work together with 31 other guys in mass warfare. Then groups of 6 get into squads, so you can make tactics on invading and taking over bases.
Serious Sam and Serious Sam II are both pretty good, Rainbow 6 Raven Shield is decent, I'd also check out No One Lives Forever 2, as it has co-op also. (Not sure about the first one, never played multiplayer.)

2142 is fun co-op, although you usually work with more than 2 or 4 people. up to you if you like working with a lot of other players
