Are you a GTX 260 owner??
-
Yep, I own a XFX GTX 260, 216 Core Black Edition. I know a few people that has had problems with Black edition cards but Luckily mine run Fantastic and no problems the whole time I've owned it.

Don't mind the dusty Heat sink.:P
My GTX260 on top and my old 8800GT as my Dedicated Physx Card.
It's a little cramped in their:P, But ironically the Air flow is actually great this way and the cards run cooler then they would alone.
Fits nicely, plays nicely. click the link in my description if you allready havent. i made videos of me playing w/ it
So far it's eatin up EVERYTHING I've thrown at it. Except Oblivion. But Im just starting to think oblivions engine just sucks.

its not bad it just ati friendly (strange concept i know)
I have the card. I got no problems with it. I play all current games on Max. Though, Crysis doesn't run so well on Ultra.

Really? That's surprising considering my 9800GTX+ handles it just fine :?

since installing my gtx 295 oblivion now runs at roughly 5-10 fps on my vista 64 boot and not at all on my xp boot
and it ran as smooth as butter with my old 8800gtx

What resolution? I altry try with 16AA, and Vsync.
Also, my CPU might not be good enough
Yip,it's a very very big card.I have gainward GS GTX260 216 in SLI.Had problems with SLI at first but an update on my MB bios fixed that, drivers are hit and miss in regards to scaling in games but all in all im happy.
My GTX 260 seems to have overheating problems. It is an XFX black edition. I have it in a Antec 900 so airflow can't be the problem. I've done a little research and discovered quite a number of people who are experiencing the same problems I have. What happens is that during a graphic intensive game like crysis. My card will go over 70 degrees and I will freeze then get a completly green or pink checkerboard pattern over my entire screen, which forces me to restart. If I had to do it all over again I would have never bought a factory overclocked card. I've bought a factory overclocked card years ago and had similiar overheating problems. However let me tell that my GTX 260, when it's working, absolutely destroys any game I've thrown at it. I get around 30 FPS on Crysis with ultra settings no AA.
I've got one. the thing is MASSIVE
but its a great card, plays virtually everything maxed or near maxed. it tends to make weird noises at times though, and it used to scare the hell outta me, but i'm used to it by now.
My story:
*Bought the 192 edition for a great price ($150 USD after rebate). I was torn up between this one and ATI HD 4870.
*Was stunned by the performance difference from my previous 8800 GTS 320MB
*Had heat issues when fan controller wasn't working properly. I kept my card in very dangerous temperatures for a while, before I took notice. After cleaning out my system of Nvidia drivers and reinstalling them, the issue was resolved.
*I noticed that the fan can be unexpectedly loud when it speeds up.
*I now have a bit of regret for not buying the 216 edition or the HD 4870. Then again, they were a little more expensive and I don't feel like I'm suffering from inferior performance or anything. It's just the feeling you always get as a PC gamer - your hardware is hardly ever as good as it could be. The only sane way to go about it is figuring out if your favorite games run well enough. And by that definition, this card is excellent for my needs.
Note: I run my games @1680x1050 at high settings. Anti-Aliasing in all but the most demanding games.
i love this card. it has so much bang for buck and can run nearly anything i throw at it (except fallout 3 for some reason, but i suspect that the engine is to blame not card) and at the resolution i play at (1280 X 1024) i probably wont have to upgrade for a long time

What kind of CPU cooler is that?
Frigging I bought a Geforce 4 and it sucked compared to the Ati card and then I bought a Geforce 5 and it sucked balls. So I decided to move to ATI with the 9800pro which was just an amazing card that everyone owned. Then I decided to buy a 6 series Geforce and it had bad drivers so I got a x800 which had no problems. I bought a 7900 and it died so I got another one and it died so I got x1950xtx and never had a problem with it. I got a 3870 next and it has been great with no problems and then I decided to upgrade to a 260 and frigging it made a high pitched noise and then died. I now own a 5870 and it's just amazing, specially seeing how cheap it is.
Never had a single problem with ATI but endless problems with Nvidia since the 4 series. I mean their 2 series owned and that was the last time I owned a good Geforce card cause 3 sucked too.
Frigging it's weird cause some people have non stop problems with ATI cards... just luck of the draw I guess but I'm an ATI guy now.

Yeah, my 260 has no problem with Oblivion on max with the texture and foliage update packs.Oblivion is rather cpu dependant and a little, whiny, egotistical biker men from mars onion rings when it comes to overclocks.I noticed the same with Fallout 3 personally.Check those overclocks! if you get sudden fps dips then it's either cpu speed vs gpu, unstable overclock(for oblivion only, not any other games hmmm) gpu drivers or the very last hurdle realtek drivers.Oblivion hates them too for some reason. My last pc build needed different realtek drivers.

Yes, COOLER MASTER Centurion 5, A Cheap but Damn good Case, Defiantly one of the best I've owned.
[QUOTE="Blind0bj3ct"] Tuniq Tower. I have the same one, except mine has lights inside, and it's not dirty. =)giant11
That thing is a beast! And the price is surprisingly reasonable.
I love it, Even on the lowest speed the fan can go My Q9550 @3.5 sets at high 20c's to Low-Mid 30c's Idle and Low 40c's Full Load on games like SupCom,Crysis,X³ .etc
with 70-80F room temp.
And I'd Clean mine but I'm out of Thermal paste at the moment. :P
Try Lowering your Voltage, A Friend and I Bought ours the same time, His had the same problem your card has we found a fix that doesn't require a Downclock, but by Lowering the Voltage too 1025 mV using Rivatuner. you won't see any Performance difference at all but you will no longer have that weird Overheating issue any more.My GTX 260 seems to have overheating problems. It is an XFX black edition. I have it in a Antec 900 so airflow can't be the problem. I agree though I try to avoid factory overclocks but the Price My GTX 260 was simply unbeatable at the time I bought mine I just had to buy it.:P

Yeah, my 260 has no problem with Oblivion on max with the texture and foliage update packs. What FPS though? Im having similar problems. Everything runs fine and smooth with occasional stuttering outside, but the fps is between 40-50 and it gets laggy in the market district, when alot of npc's are around Edit: Nvm, just read what Astaroth2k said. I'll check my cpu as it is oc'dPlease Log In to post.
