Are you addicted to gaming?

I know I am. What's alarming is how much of my free time it takes up. I got a PC for the first time last December, since then I've gamed practicaly every day. Oblivion, Airborne, Crysis, COD 1, Call of Juarez, Dark Messiah and so on.

I thought after finishing Far Gry I would give myself a break, but now I've gone straight into KOTOR 1 and Jedi Knight 2.

I work full-time, I have friends, etc, lots of things to do, but hear myself saying, 'just one more level/map'

Any of you in this situation?

You're not addicted until it causes a PROBLEM, and if you have friends then you are not addicted. It's like being addicted to drugs, the effect should be the same (except for the overdose part)

I am addicted. I have friends, a career, a family and social life. I can still say I'm addicted because I have posters, video game comics, action figures (collectibles) in my entertainment room. I already pre-ordered Gears of War 2 with Life-size lancer and Resistance 2 CE with Chimera action figure. It's like a huge hobby for me. I find peace in it. In my other spare time, I garden, I go surfing, snowboarding, and swimming. You wonder how I do all this? I dont have a girlfriend (any more). :P

Do I cause problems? Nope, not at all. If you ask me.. do I play games much? Not really. Probably 5-9 hours a week. I dont game much but I'm pretty involved in it.

I'm addicted. Hard. The minute I finish a game, I start the next one, and when I dont have a game installed on my PC, I get upset and restless until i get one.

It's pretty much like drugs...

I'm addicted to the point of it actually affecting my life for the worse. I was given a grant from my university to write a symphony over the summer, and here it is mid September and the thing still isn't done.

My thoughts exactly, I plan to play BIA:Hells Highway like theres no tomorrow when it comes out. Online and off =).

GTA IV for the PC and L4D will keep me addicted after, and for a very long time.

I do have a life though but every free second I get besides guitar goes to gaming =)

Im addict to certain games, not to gaming itself. I never bother to play more than one per period, never bother to play consoles and I can spent years without playing any game whatsoever

Although, if a game hits me in the face, I can play straight for hours and hours and never get sick of it

I think I'm more addicted to internet surfing than gaming actually. Nothing to play right now really except when I'm with friends and we play TF2

Gaming is great, definatly takes my mind of my health problems and chronic pain im in alot.

Loved gamign when i was younger and lately just been getting into it again after a little time off from it. I think ill be a gamer my whole life :)

During the Summer I would consider myself slightly addicted ( played 5 - 7 hours a day... ) but now the that school has started I can play maybe 0 - 1.5 hours a day ( gotta retain my 4.0 average ;) ). I still have and talk to my buddies daily and I'm fine at school, but if Pc gaming controls your life, take a breather and relax and remember its only a game. If you feel that you have an adiction or gaming prevents you from doing something important quit while you still can.

Well most the time its just continues fun, not addiction.

Its not like my addiction to pop, porn or stuff like that.

Although i do spend most of my day gaming, so you could consider it an addiction

i'm not addicted, and can go without gaming for quite a few days at a time, but it's true when i'm playing i can get really into it, to the point where although i'm tired and not enjoying it as much, still want to get round the next corner to see what's there.

i love doing other thigns listening to/trying to play (badly) music, reading, watching films, also more active stuff like cycling, but i love the interaction in games, and that's what can keep me playing them until 2 or 3am - like i did last night...

i asked myself this question the other day. i dont think i am. on school days i only play games (if at all) for about an hour. weekends, maybe 2 to 3, but maybe not at all.

i have other passions to keep me going like snooker and girls etc, i also keep myself in good physical condition, if i wasnt in good nick i would feel pretty bad about playing games, like i had let myself down. so i try to keep a balance:)

Wow, lol. I'm the total opposite. I have games lying around, untouched. I buy em and store em away. Like a gaming pack-rat. :P
