YoZbaNaToR
Get your sig right here
i hate it when people misquote. please edit this.
No, I am not going to be tricked by the reviews again for another Beth product.. Oblivion was a awful game, and a awful rpg.. There is nothing redeemable about it except for maybe the mod community.. The game has no real character dvelopment, no real point to explore, no real story to pay attention to, stupid combat of a bunch of random swinging, no real choice making.. In the end its the on the pedastal imo for what a dumbing down of the industry looks like..
This isn't to say I want amazingly advanced "hardcore" games.. I want games with depth, Oblivion has none.. People need to go the route of Blizzard in many games that give the capability of making a game that is easy to start with, but in the end has incredible depth to master.

Amazing.
thenewau25, you might actually be a decent person, and of course your opinion, whatever it might be (yep, even the above if that's truly how you feel), is absolutely more than welcome.
You may want to do a few things though. Slow down with your posts, put a little more thought behind them, think them through, and try to think of the those who are going to be reading them. Maybe spend a little time surveying how most other people typically post.
Not necessarily this thread (or not limited to), not necessarily the above post, but it's like filtering through spam getting past your posts to someone else that I'll actually enjoy reading what they have to say.
Although, if I spend enough time searching and deciphering, you have made a good point before. However, your credibility/relevance is about to 0 at this point. Your choice dude, I'm only saying.
that sir was very delicately put.... i commend you on that. You have earned some respect from me to you, just off of one post... awesome.

I would get it for PC(Mainly because I cant aim with a gamepad).[QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"][QUOTE="Helbrec"]I probably am getting it but I dont know for what plat. Im debating between 360 or PC. Pc better graphics mods... 360 i can play on my upcoming 26-32" LCD TV.Helbrec

There is no online.there is a fallout mmo/ online style game in the works though i think.[QUOTE="yakk_3"]I will be getting it opening day! But for 360, because I just bought a nice gaming laptop, but my 360 still runs games better. Nonetheless, I loved Oblivion, so I'm sure Bethesda won't dissapoint me on this one.Vilot_HeroWill you be getting the regular or Collectors Edition? Im leaning towards the regular myself.I am undecided. Most likely I will just be getting the regular version. I have never in the past payed extra for a collector's edition of a game. But then again, it does have a lunchbox... but no, I think the regular will be fine for me.
ANYONE WATCHED A 80"S US MOVIE THAT A NUKECLEAR FALLOUT TURNED THE WORLD LIKE... FALLOUT 3? seriously now the game feels like fallout games the graphics the worldmap the areas they feel like fallout did you notice the super duper market, it reminds fallout, the game aint oblivion!
MAD MAX style, eg is far cry 2 far cry? plz this is fallout 3 its just like fallout 3!
No, I won't get Oblivion with Guns. Now, if there'd be a real Fallout 3, I'd buy that.
[QUOTE="Treflis"]
I guess most other Fallout fans are aware of the fact that it's horribly dumbed down.
HenriH-42
Fixed.
Cute, I assume a real fallout 3 would basically be the exact same as the first and second for you other Ol'school Fallout fans.
No enhancements and no changes.
I actually find the statement that it's Oblivion with guns quite laughable, Did not the old fallout games have guns? Weren't the old Fallout games basically Sandbox games just like oblivion with the exceptiong that oblivion had first person view?
Wouldn't that then mean you other Ol'school Fallout fans do not approve of the First person view?
Does the Fallout 3 not have the system of Perks, Traits and that the skill points to apply to each skill have an effect in the game just like in the first and second one.
Is it the turn based combat you other Ol'school Fallout fans are clinging onto so much?
Is it the fact you have freedom in the game to do basically whatever you want, even killing quest givers?
Oh no, you're not afraid of changes.
Whatever happened to the phrase " Time change and so does everything with it"?
Lord give me strenght....
In any case nobody if forcing you to buy or even play it, but judging something on looks only rather then to actually try it is just silly.

No no no... I'm not against first person view at all. It's actually more immersive. BUT... It is clear that the game is made for and targeted for the Xbox 360 audience, aka 14-year-old ADHD teens who can't play a game unless it involves killing someone every 5 seconds. In the videos I've seen, there has been combat and combat only. It's clear that you must always fight everyone, and there is really no role-playing whatsoever. It has been dumbed down. I don't mind change as in IMPROVEMENT, but none of the things in Fallout 3 seems to have improved from the first two games except that it's 3D. I don't call that a huge improvement, especially when compared to the things that they have removed for the sake of Xbox-teens who want instant gratification and Bethesda who wants money and money only.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then.Personally in the Old Fallout games the majority of the game itself did revolve against shooting things ( Sudden encounters and such) so I can't really say that's a change. There might be even more shooting this time around, that I can agree that there probably will but I can't really say it's not a Fallout game cause despite the drastic changes I can see resemblences. It's most likely not 100% the same as the old ones but I have a feeling it will be a worthy sequel, but you never know that for sure until you actually try it. I have high hopes for it as I love both Fallout and the Oblivion game despite it's flaws. True it could crash and burn but it could also be great. So far we have only seen so little of the game that we can't really judge it.
That would be like passing on a potential good book because you've read a few lines and you don't like the cover.

Well, I will probably buy it. But it try to keep my expectations really, REALLY low. As long as they remove the level scaling, it cannot be worse than Oblivion. But that isn't saying much.
hey does far cry 2 looks like far cry? by the way did you notice the perks this is fallout allright, the same designers made far cry and crysis also the same made deus ex and deus ex 2, all those games are made by the same people and are somewhat sequels and they all so diffirent fallout 3 is closer to fallout than faloout tactics!thenewau25

No, that's not Fallout 3. It's Oblivion with Guns, but Bethesda bought the Fallout license (thus preventing anyone from making a true Fallout sequel) and just renamed the game to Fallout 3 and hopes that some Fallout fans will buy it.

yes i understand, just all im saying is lets let the game come out before we make any real rash decisions about it, i mean it may suck, it may not, it may be great. but we will just have to wait and see.yes i understand, just all im saying is lets let the game come out before we make any real rash decisions about it, i mean it may suck, it may not, it may be great. but we will just have to wait and see.Lach0121

tooche'. meaning good point :P i hope it is gonna be good, well i hope alot of games are gonna be good, not really many games i hope will be bad lol.im gonna get it, it might only be fallout in name, but its still in the same universe, and if it sells badly it might be the last fallout... I kinda hope they make a Fallout 4...
It is so rare that I find game universes that I really like, I havent playeid the game and cant say how much will be missing, but I try to stay positive ;)

I loved Bethesda until Oblivion. Daggerfall and Morrowind are in my top 20 best games of all time list. I just lost all faith in them after they made that... that... horrible abomination called Oblivion. :(

Hey, thanks man, not with any expectations of it actually helping, but why not :P
There are actually a number of people here with "wisdom" in their posts...between some unavoidable crap of course (welcome to the internet you know), but there are those with great reasoning, and better wisdom behind it than I'd ever be able to come up with :D
On topic, I'm planning on getting Fallout 3 by the way. Since learning more and more about the game, my anticipation has only gone down. However, forgetting Fallout in the title for the moment, and if not trying to shoe-horn it into any specific genre, Oblivion with guns actually doesn't sound that bad to me. Do justice to the combat, and I could see myself having a good time with the game.

I don't think Oblivion was THAT bad. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either in my opinion. A lot of people have a hard time deciding which game to choose if Morrowind and Oblivion were put before them. And trust me, not just any people. I believe Bethesda aims for the stars while others aim for the moon. I'm not saying all other companies just aim for the moon, heck there are masterpieces out there. But when people expect a masterpiece and it comes up short, then people just regard it as trash, due to disappointment that is.
I will be getting Fallout 3. Not because I'm creaming my pants over its lack of RPG elements substituted by brain-bashing combat but because I have the money to burn. I understand trying to keep an open mind but holy hell you guys telling us with a negative viewpoint to calm down are hypocrites. We aren't allowed to make a judgement that the game will be absolute crap? Why then are you allowed to say it is going to be a great title easily worthy of AAA?
From all I've seen presented to me about this game it really is another Oblivion. A true spiritual succesor. Lack of RPG elements, focus on combat above all else, and basically a total disregard for the lore/story of the games leading up to the sequal. If any of you know anything about TES lore you would know that Oblivion just threw that all away. Fallout 3 is following suite.
Mind you, I haven't even played Fallout 1&2. I'll be getting them along with Fallout 3. So my judgement on Fallout 3 cannot be claimed to be biased. I just happen to be able to recognize a steaming pile of crap when it's presented to me.

There was a time when Bethesda aimed for the stars, but those days are long gone. Nowadays they just aim at the nearest source of money, which is in this case, the Fallout franchise.
Oblivion is a decent game as a hack-n-slash action game with inventory and stats, though the stats won't affect anything because everything levels up with you. But as a RPG, well, it's not even really a role-playing game.

Actually the last 5 trailers that came out for Fallout 3 did show a lot of choices in dialogue...
and can you show me some other RPG's that had extensive pre-release videos of dialogue trees or character sheets?
I checked and NWN 2 didn't, The Witcher didn't... Both of these games are regarded as some of the best RPG's that came out in recent time. not even Fallout 2 had videos of their RPG aspects, in fact the trailers for that game showed about 5 seconds of gameplay videos.
I still don't get Fallout "Fans". They expect Bethesda to cater to their needs like no other developer ever has in the history of game making and for what?
Everytime they talk about story, people complain about canon. When they show combat, it's not turn based and it's not Half Life 2. When they show dialogue options and talk about quests, skills, stats, perks, the ability to hack into machines, the fact that stats have to be to a certain level to accomplish things (unlike oblivion where everything succeeded with stats lending improvements), the fact that you can sneak through missions, the dialogue options where they showed that you can bully a guy for more money... They haven't shown enough of it even though there's more videos talking about the RPG aspects than any RPG in recent history.
