M$ already confirmed dx11 is coming to vista.

Microsoft's Ben Basaric, productmarketing managerfor Windows products, confirmed to PC Games Hardware that the next major update to the DirectX API, DirectX 11 would accompany Windows 7, the next major consumer operating system software byMicrosoft. This, overwriting his own statement given to the website earlier that he wasn't sure if DirectX 11 would be ready to ship with the OS upon its launch. Furthermore, he also indicated that Windows Vista will have access to the updated API.
so basically us vista user will just need to download dx11, or it may come with vista sp2 :)
Only thing that will make me upgrade to windows 7 is if Directx11 only come to it and not vista or xpralle_22vista will have DX11

All in pounds sterling this, and I think its same or similar for EU.
These are the E versions.
Yup. Heard nothing but good things about it. I keep hearing that it's what Vista should have been.
I'm buying a new PC anyways, and I don't feel like buying XP 64 bit with W7 so close to launch.
I think that 7 is going to do what Vista was unable to. That is, force people to upgrade.
Yes, vistas nice but this is better. I had vista on my machine, but I just love the new taskbar interface. Stuff seems to launch quicker, and well, why not have it?Why people say that Vista is so bad??
I have it on my machine and i LOVE it! Its fast , looks great and does everything i need.
So unless Windows 7 turns out to be out of this world OS i MAY think about it .But dont think so. I just love Vista

I'll be getting it for the improvements Microsoft made for SSD's. Hopefully I can run a proper RAID 0 with my SSD's and get a nice performance boost over Vista.
Ordered 5 copies of 7 Ultimate.
As I said in an earlier post I've preordered the full HP edition "E" for 49 quid, but will wait until my RC on my other partition expires and even then I may wait a while just to see how everything pans out after the first few months, upto now the RC is great, but the need to upgrade will be slightly different because of its similarities to my current OS (vista), time will tell but least this way I have a full copy on the cheap :P
Kinda same here, Windows 7 does really blow Vista completely out of the water when it comes to using SSD's.I'll be getting it for the improvements Microsoft made for SSD's. Hopefully I can run a proper RAID 0 with my SSD's and get a nice performance boost over Vista.
Ordered 5 copies of 7 Ultimate.
