anyone pulled this back out and tried it after the upgrade\install?

had it running on 8.1 and it was unplayable. stutter-fest from hell no matter what settings or resolution.

reinstalled on 10 Pro x64 earlier this week and it was a huge surprise. @ 1080p with highest settings it locks in at 60fps and stays there super smooth and constant. running 1440p at same settings it defaults down to 30fps but still is a very smooth "slow-motion" (jk, 30fps just seems so slow these days).

not sure if this game was designed for Windows 10 or DX12 drivers or what, but i updated nothing ingame since the reinstall so it is the same version that was unplayable on 8.1 Pro x64.

AMD Driver Packaging version: 15.20.1062.1003 \ Catalyst Version: 15.7.1

I'm on nvidia, haven't tried since windows 10 had its real release.... But the game ran perfectly for me on windows 8.1, but would always crash within five minutes on windows 10 technical preview.

Runs great on Win 8.1, no complaints about performance here (60 FPS avg at 1440P). Just waiting for them to fix the graphics.

@KHAndAnime: what graphics problems? nothing going on that shouldn't be and everything working just the way it should. looks better than a lot of the better written and better themed games out there.

still is what?

no quest bugs, no graphical anomalys, no problems loading or running whatsoever on windows 10 for me.

I don't even understand why the game isn't for sale anymore. The people that originally bought it can easily play it and finish the game. Yes, the graphics are broken compared to consoles, and performance on some configurations is irregular but that is hardly a big issue compared to it being broken and unplayable or something like that.

I don't see how my post does not relate to the original post. I am telling you it still runs like shit on Win 10 and needs optimizations from the developer. I average over 60 fps at 1440p max settings, but I still get dips and performance issues which is unacceptable considering I have a 980 Ti.

Most of the issues have been fixed but I'll personally wait for the re-release in September anyway.

@BassMan: well, that's what i was asking about, if people were on Windows 10 or not and you hadn't specified. have never gotten a dip below 60fps @ 1080p batmobile included, may be an nvidia thing for now.

Actually, everyone is universally going to be missed the rain shaders and ambient occlusion - because they haven't fully implemented it. They attempted to hot-fix it in, but they messed up because it's only included if you start a new game - the second you continue from a save the shaders and ambient occlusion will be gone again.

If you're playing through the game on PC now, or have in the past, you're basically playing it with worse graphics settings than the PS4.

That's why myself and many people won't even consider playing the game until they at least patch the game so it's graphically on par with the PS4 version. Otherwise I would've just bought it on the PS4.

It's not just an Nvidia thing. I don't know of anybody that does not suffer from the streaming slowdowns and frame timing issues. So, I don't believe you. AMD can't even max the game anyway...

@KHAndAnime: well, that is totally untrue because there is apparent HBAO. and turning on the advanced rain option makes it very apparent. maybe it has updated past what you were experiencing.

and even missing one small post-processing effect like ambient occlusion at 1080p 60+fps is much better than what it would be on a PS4.

Perhaps the HBAO was fixed, but the rain shaders weren't. It hasn't been updated since June 27th, these reports were made after the patch.

Here's a thread

Here's a screenshot comparison

We're talking about multiple shaders on the Batmobile, Batman, and likely even other things that weren't even documented here. If you don't mind playing the game with worse shaders than the PS4 version, more power to you. Personally, after seeing how dramatic the difference is in person, I'm definitely not going to bother playing until this is fixed.

There are multiple other significant issues too that aren't fixed (texture pop-in, FPS spikes, etc.) but those don't bother me as much as the missing rain shaders.

Play it on PS4 then comment.

At the moment, that's the best edition with the prettiest graphics.

You're the one who took a jab with it being an Nvidia thing. Does your card support Nvidia GameWorks? No. So, how can you max the game or any other game that uses Nvidia GameWorks?

I installed Win10 on a new SSD and moved my Arkham Knight install to it, haven't tried it yet though. I'll give it a shot tonight when I get home from work. It ran -ok- for me on Win 7, I played through probably half the game and got distracted by something else.

Honestly I don't think performance is the game's biggest problem.

@elessarGObonzo:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-batman-arkham-knight-pc-lacks-console-visual-features

NVIDIA GameWorks tinted Batman: Arkham Knight on PC lacks console visual features. Performance is poor and specific graphical effects are missing too.

Having tested the PC game on a Intel Core i7 3770K machine, with 16GB of memory and a GTX 780 Ti, a solid all-round experience should be within easy reach. In reality, performance levels are poor with this setup, and to throw salt into the wound, the PC's top tier settings miss out on visual effects found in the PlayStation 4 release

@BassMan: what does Gameworks have to do with maxing graphics? all it does is set the graphics options for you that you could have done yourself through the game's menu and the Nvidia Control Panel in tandem. i used it with my last Nvidia cards for a very short while but i don't like crap running that i don't need and it didn't do anything i couldn't do myself.

and saying it was an nvidia thing would make sense if there are effects not working for you but that do for others with different cards or frame dips that i do not experience at all anymore.

*edited later: just getting ready to go to work and remembered those commercials when dloading from Nvidia's site about Gameworks. it's their Experience garbage i was referring to earlier in post. but, even a lot of the Gameworks features work with AMD cards. HBAO+, Witcher's Hairworks. PhysX even works fine in most games, it's just a bit more taxing and sometimes not quite as smooth using AMD to do it. but how many, of the 3 i ever saw, games that run TressFX allow nvidia cards to run it?

@KHAndAnime: trust me, i've seen the PS4 version in comparison and it looks like most other of this gens console games, decent but lower res with less effects and lower frame rates. the PC game at even near to high settings looks quite a bit better, since i've installed it again anyway.

no offense to the people having a bad time with it that seem awfully touchy about this subject and have a lot of crap of to talk about it but haven't run it lately, or on the platform specified in the thread.

@elessarGObonzo: GPU accelerated PhysX is exclusive to Nvidia. In terms of TressFX, the only game that I have played that I know uses it is Tomb Raider, and that game runs fine with it turned on.

Fact of the matter is that there are aspects of the PS4 version that look better because they forgot to implement some effects in the port job. These aren't small effects by any means (playing with and without them to me is night and day), so I have no problem waiting for them to be fixed.

I am glad I got the game free with my GPU because of all of the problems it has had. That said, I am still going to play it to death when it is fixed as I enjoy the series. I still trust Rocksteady, I hope they part with WB after this game is done with.

With the latest 15.8 AMD drivers on my R9 290 on Windows 10 it's almost perfect 60 FPS maxed, the patch should make it perfect, I think.
