I am going to. I just am going to make a crack so I don't have to deal with it screwing up my saves everytime my internet drops packets. Personally I love assassin's creed so I really don't mind going the extra mile to make sure it runs right. Plus we get 2 dlc's bundled with the game.

Just get the 360 version honestly, I got it for the 360 and it was my GotY last year. Very good game, but not worth the drm.

Playing the first one so I can catch up on the story first, then will get 2. Playing Silent Hunter 5 at the moment, and really haven't noticed any issues with the DRM. People are complaining without seeing it in action. I mean I just lost all my activations on Wings of Prey, been 3x days awaiting a response to reactivate. So you tell me what's worse?

Except for when those continents contain resources the US government/military complex/big business wants.

I bought it, great game. No issues with the DRM.

I'm playingwiththe m/kb even though i have a 360 controller, i just prefer a mouse for looking around with the camera, i did remap the controls abit for my tastes. It runs decently enough at 1680x1050 maxed with no AA on a Q6600, 4GB, SLI 8800GT, Win7 i get between 28-60 fps, feels smooth. I wouldn't say the graphics look any better than the consoles apart from the usually of being in high res and other minor improvements. It's a good game, and a decent port, i do recommend you use a 360 controller however unless your like me.

Can't wait for Splinter Cell Conviction now.

@ the people talking about the price. It also includes 2x 10$ dlc packs. As well as better graphics from what I have been hearing.

60$ to rent a PC game. Didn't UBISOFT learned their lesson with Cold Fear and the magnificent STARFORCE? Hope the sales for the PC version will sink...

This game is outstanding! Leaps and bounds better than the first one. Its more like GTA now with all the many different side missions and activities you can do in between the main mission. I'm 26% done and have 13 hours logged so far according to the game, I can see an easy 40 hours for this game.

So long as it's crisp with minimal jaggies. If it's more than playable on KBM, I'll buy it as well.

That's right - it's starting to feel GTA-like. All that nonsense you had to do in the first game has been replaced be other stuff that's a lot more fun, but you don't even have to do it if you don't want to. There's the main quest, and then there's the sandbox element. I'm quite taken by the art style, and the Tuscany map in particular has just floored me - and I mean the entire map.

There's no way I'll buy this game since it's online only. It looks fun, but it's not worth it to me to pay $50 to rent a game.

Suffca

well there is no working crack as of the moment that works properly, so of course the only way to play is to buy the game and go through with the DRM process. I myself am thinking o fthat but the problem is I don't want to support a ridiculous DRM method.

If enough people buy this game with the current drm method, then that will sanction Ubisoft to continue and it will set a bad precedent for the industry as other companies think of implementing similar methods.

The other thing like about this game is that I'm being sent all over the place. You don't stay in one city too long. For example, you begin in Florence, but you only unlock two out of the three sections before being whisked away to the villa. At the villa you do one mission before heading down the road to Tuscany for a single mission. Then it's back to the Villa, and then it's back to Florence to unlock the third part of the map.

All of this happens in the early part of the game. Since each region is visually unique it really keeps the game from feeling stale - the actual gameplay, surprisingly, continues to evolve as you play.

Ubisoft has really outdone themselves with this sequel. All I know is that I'm going to be depressed when this ride is over. This may be the game of the year for me. It's just an awesome game, and it makes me damned glad to be a PC Gamer.

I got this game 2 days ago now, and it really is beautiful!

Once you get passed the shoddy Ubisoft DRM it's superb.

The gameplay is much improved, as are the visuals.

Is anybody else having a tough time with some of the optional missions: specifically, the courier missions, and the race missions.

All these couriers running around are damned difficult to catch - I'd say that these chases really highlight the engine however. You find yourself caught up in the adrenaline of having to catch this guy, and there you are flying through the air and jumping from rooftop to rooftop. It's pretty insane. I wish I could catch one though.

The checkpoint races are also ridiculously difficult. I find that they're pretty addictive as well though. There's one in Florence that I've attempted at least 15 times now, and I still can't get it.

These aren't easy, theses missions.

In my opinion, even the original game is not fully playable, due to the constant checks.

i think it's fantastic. i have never seen a sequel so improved. Ubi really did a great job with it. Everything about it is just...sublime. Also, the drm isn't that intrusive. I have a constant internet connection so it isn't a bother. Although it is a pain when your game crashes (happend once in 2 days of play9ing for me) without a message. I think it is probably because something went wrong with their servers. Another ripe is the fact that you have to have a ubi account...WHY??!?!? that's just a waste of time, i think.

In any case I got the game for £30 and i'm thoroughly enjoying it. My recommendation woulf be to go out and pruchase it.

Well said, i bought it off Amazon for £22, bargain for such an amazing game. Probably one of the most improved sequels i've played.

AC 2 is easily THE most improved sequel I've ever played. The plot just sucks you right in, and you never feel like you're doing the same thing twice when you're pursuing the main quest - even the sidequests and missions feel fresh.

I wasn't going to comment on the DRM at all in this thread, but I have to say that I've played this game for three hours every night since its release and I've never failed to connect, nor have I ever been booted from the game.

I completely forget that I'm even on the net. You just don't even think about it. I've got to say though, it sure was a pleasure to play my game ahead of the pirates for once. Man, that hasn't happened in YEARS. Ubisoft beat them. They beat them.

Wufus is obviously not a plant, otherwise he'd talk about the long series of Ubisoft games that resisted piracy weeks and even months after release.

Just wanted to clear that up:P

Saturday I had to wait about ten minutes to connect. It was not fun.

Oh joy, the servers are down again and the launcher is blaming me for it. It also gives me a stupid error about only one instance of the launcher being allowed to run at any time.

I'm going to apply the crack as soon as it's launched and enjoy this brilliant game whenever I want.

really really really good game. no issues with drm. in fact i like it as i play it on my laptop and desktop and my save games are always available. In terms on controls used a controller but i preferred the m/k. I could move the camera a lot quicker and use the extra buttons on my mouse so all my controls are easy to get to. For example i can run really fast with m/k and move the camera around. can't do that on a controller as you got to press two buttons at once and so can't move the right analogue stick at the same time.

No. The repeatitiveness of the first game is pretty much totally gone in AC2.

The combat system is like Arkham Asylum's, except that you have a lot of weapons and combat styIes for every situation.
