Hello all,

Just wondering whether anyone else is having the same problem I am with Assassins Creed DX10 mode. When I start the game in DX10 it opens in window mode, I couldn't see any options to set it to full screen though. I couldn't see anything in the documentation on this issue either. DX9 mode works fine, so it's not a big problem but I wouldn't mind playing in DX10 full screen as window mode is just annoying.

I guess some info on my computer would help:

AMD X2 6000+
4Gb RAM
Asus AM2 nForce 590 SLI
2x eVGA Geforce 8800 GTX SLI
Windows Vista 32bit

I updated my graphics drivers about 4 days ago so unless they've been changed since then I have the latest Nvidia drivers for my Graphics and Motherboard. And Windows Updates are up to date as well.

Have fun

Oh and I'm playing it at 1280x720 at 60hz btw.

Have fun

LMAO! That's embarrassingly simple, I'll give it a go later.

Thanks

Have fun.

LOL no need to be embarrassed :), sometimes things like this make you start wondering too much and you start to make complicated theories when the answer is easy ( it happens to me a lot sometimes :)).

I have almost the same problem problem. ( not running the game windowed, because something is wrong with the DX10 exe, it does that to everyone) My problem is making screen shots, whenever i make a screen shot, even tough the game is full screen the screen shot comes out with the game windowed and the tool bar, side bar and other applications in front of the game and it's really annoyng :(, it works sometimes but sometimes it doesn't)

I think everyone has this problem. ALT + Enter makes it full screen. I don't find it to annoying, I'm normally surfing the web while it loads anyways.

What bothers me is that there's no 4:3 support. Why must I view a friggin' wide-screen only game on a 4:3 monitor? Annoying!

Actually from what I saw at a friend with a 19" CRT monitor it does, if you're talking about the black bars, well I had them and I have a widescreen monitor.

Well that's just plain stupid. Why would you get two black bars if you have a WS monitor? This is f****ed up

The black bars are there to make it seem more like a movie.

I remember a certain game, that revolutionized graphics yet again...Crysis -both of them-.... I also remember a patch that used to fix this issue (the game starting windowed), I also remember all the times it didn't work after the patch :/. It's doubtful that they can fix it, at this point they don't even care about AC 1 anymore.

It's kinda sad they don't they further test these games, because I'm sure if they cared to install it on lets say 5 different hardware ver. computers they'd realize that there's am issue. But who knows what the hell these developers are smoking nowadays!

Yep just as easy as AC, but it's a frustrating problem and ironically something that's already been patched/fixed, but it was no surprise when I saw that the patch did absolutely nothing to fix it, considering that it was meant mostly for fixing that problem, imo it's a huge failure.

AC is a console port. Consoles use a 16:9 ratio. Pc monitors are 16:10. That's why you get small black bars.
