I think I have played around three hours or so, in ACII, and im really overwhelmed!

This game has been improved 100x since ACI, and ACI was pretty good, albeit a little repetetive.

Anyone else feels like ACII is a LEAP in the right direction of 3rd persons?

I know I do, goddam this game is awesome :D

Well, if you played Assassin's Creed already, expect an AC game but vastly improved in every way. Instead of the lazy way they approached each mission in the first, this time around it's filled with cinematics, action-packed sequences, and it keeps you totally engaged from start to finish. It's the way AC should have been in the first place.

Sadly I think so too. I don't like the medieval italy theme, the assassinations got boring somewhat quickly and I quit the game at the part where you had to collect all those remaining codex pages to continue with the story.

This is one of those games that I understand people think is awesome, but I just can't enjoy it myself.

I wasnt impressed with AC1 or AC2 to be honest, just got very boring after the first 2-3 hours.

Nice flashy graphics and thats about all the game has imo... repetative, boring, horrible story, no interesting characters... decent controls, but I just didnt have much fun playing this game in all honesty.

I really disagree. I thought it was immensely refreshing to see a game use real historical characters as a backdrop. It added far detail, color and character to the game world compared to most other similar games. Basically I thought the setting, characters and story surpassed most other recent games. I played AC2 on the X360 rather than the PC, but I have to agree that AC2 was one of the best games of '09. I took what was good about AC1 and pretty consistently succeeded in getting rid of most of the flaws and repetitive elements.

It was good indeed. It was a big step up from the first game, there were clothe colour customizations , weapons to buy, upgradable town BUT it's not enough, not for a free roaming 3rd person action game. It wasn't groundbreaking but it was enjoyable to walk through lively cities and to experience it's nice visuals.

I do agree it has its good moments such as poisoning guards or using courtesians as a way to distract guards but I think Ubisoft should learn something from Hitman, despite the fact that it's in a different time period, it's a great game that makes you feel like an assassin, where the player is able to choose many ways to kill his targets. Assassins Creed 2 was a big step up but it still doesn't feel like you're a real assassin since you don't really have much options in killing a target compared to the Hitman games.

I hope the next game struggles it's way out of the semi-linear game-play of what it feels like to be an assassin.

The setting and everything was there for a great game and story but they just didnt do anythign with it.

Nothing in the story or characters made it enjoyable to me.

its like they jsut went for good controls and nice graphics and didnt care about any story or characters.

Probably the most overrated series of this gen for me personally.

Bought hte first two AC games hoping they would improve on the story, characters and fun factor but they didnt, I wont be buying another AC again.

nice setting, godo graphics and controsl, but they made the game sooo repetative, it has no fun factor for me after a few hours, just repetative nonsense to me.

I know the series is popular and casul friendly but it jsut was not fun or engaging to me at all after an hour. Wish I never bought the game, waste of money for me personally.

If they made it FUN like the HItman series I would be stoked. Some great ideas in this series but thats abotu it for me.

Its a big improvement over the first, but the platforming controls while using Keyboard+mouse still make me rage. so many times i would be trying to do some precise manouver when Etzio would fling himself backwards into space and fall to his death.

Buy it and just download a crack? Not like it matters if you've bought it. Then there's the whole "don't want to give them money at all" issue, just get it second hand? I never understood not getting a game due to DRM.

I just don't see a point financially supporting a company that's okay with hassling its customers in an effort to stop piracy. I simply don't agree with Ubisoft's customer and gaming philosophy. In a nutshell, that's why I don't wish to purchase games from them. The DRM is just icing on the cake.

Again, second hand buys are entirely possible. Ubisoft won't receive a cent.

How do you see that to be the case? Ubisoft already received their money when it was packaged and delivered to the store outlet that bought the game in bulk. Any product you see on the shelf has been bought and paid once already, albeit at a significantly reduced cost. It's irrelevant if I buy it from Tommy down the street or the used shelf at Best Buy, I am supporting the company by purchasing the product. A statistic I'd rather not be a part of.

Uh, by that logic pirating is the same as buying. You're just using something that's been bought by someone else and uploaded after all. If you buy it second hand you get to play the game without supporting Ubisoft, it's pretty simple. The game would've been bought whether you touched it or not.

I'll play the game when they dump the DRM. Simple as that. I don't care if you can bypass it via cracks or not. The simple fact that it exists is enough of a reason for me to never warrant a purchase, both officially or second hand.

Its good, but it doesnt really address what went wrong with the first. I mean it has more variety, but its also simplified quite a bit.

I agree that drm is quite a pain in the behind, but if you get past that, its really a jewel on the pc.

I also like the story quite alot, the two parts, historical and present days. I found it a bit tedious in ACI, but in ACII they actually managed to make the present day storyline pretty kewl, and made me excited about what is going to happen in ACIII.

And then there is the overlay story, or behind the scene story, called "the truth" in ACII, I find that pretty epic as well, seeing I like conspiracy and the likes :) I just hope they take the overlay story from ACI and II and weave it nicely into ACIII.

One things for sure thou, after I saw a bit about ACIII, where you are able to take missions in all of Europe, im pretty facking sure ima buy that one :)

the intro sequence seemed to take forever to get through, once the game (finally) got going i thought variety wise it was an improvement over the first but after a while, like with the first game, i just lost interest and moved onto other games.

It's good, but I think I might've been pretty bored with AC when I started to play ACII. Even though the first game was really repetitive, I enjoyed it more. Guess it was just more fun the first time.

and besides, the entire game does not take place right in the middle of a town, there are plenty of places that would benefit from crouching and sneaking, i assume you actually played it for more than a couple hours and ya know how big the game is.

Amazing game, i played it for about 2 days non-stop and finished it, very good.

30 hours played in 2 days is not bad.

Its insanely easy, has a pain in the ass DRM, and has relatively low replay value. No, it is not a great game. If you consider it decent then yea I can agree with that. Its insanely easy, but if you don't buy extra armor and weapon upgrades you will still have an decent experience. The pain in the ass DRM is still a pain in the ass, but there are ways around it. And while its replay value is very low ubisoft added two extra chapters for free (or included in the unjustified 10$ extra) and that makes the story a semi decent length.

I finished it, there weren't many momoents where you wouldn't look like an absolute moron if you were going about sneaking and crouching. Maybe when you go to the hidden.. uh, the platforming stages as there was some traditional stealth involved. Most of the game was in crowded areas though.

I wasnt impressed with AC1 or AC2 to be honest, just got very boring after the first 2 - 3 hours.

Nice flashy graphics and thats about all the game has imo⠀¦repetative, boring, horrible story, no interesting characters⠀¦decent controls, but I just didnt have much fun playing this game in all honesty.

Yep it is an EXCELLENT game and very much underrated by the playing public due to some kind of good game hate attitude we have recently. It is fantastic and very fun. My only complaint is it is WAY to easy when it comes to combat you are nigh on invincible.

I absolutely loved the tombs. I loved the whole game, looking forward to Brotherhood.
