I've seen it on PS3, but never played it. It looked interesting but I heard people say it's a let down. How is the PC port? Is this game worth $5?

The game is really fun to play, and you don't need a 360 controller, because the mouse & keyboard control work very well. It does get repetitive near the end and the story isn't very good, but it's still a nice experience to play, plus it's extremely fun to climb tall buildings. I'd say for $5 go for it.
Of course its worth it. With or without a controller. It'l get you hyped for AC 2, which comes out in November.
If you have a controler or don't mind using the mouse and key-board and you like the Historic Action Adventure genre, your getting more than your money's worth.
Is it worth paying 5$ for 20+ hours of gaming?
Answer that and you'll have your answer. (Also read my review of the PS3 version)
assassins creed is worth it.
assassins creed for $5 is an absolute must. if only for the story. then if you add in awesome graphics, setting, animation, freerunning and swordfighting. you have WIN. granted certain parts are repetitive and there are weaknesses. but for $5????????????????????????????? get it!!!
well i just bought this off steam.. for $5
and im disapointed :(, for $5 i guess it is worth it, the game looks great and the combat feels really good.
but i hate the whole virtual reality part of the game, like why that is in there I have no idea
also I dont like the whole low profile, high profile controls or whatever.
I played this game for an hour last night and I dont think Im gonna pick it back up again

You've paid the cash you should give it a chance. The vitrual reality part is a strange way of telling the story I agree, however as you play on these VR parts become rare indeed. Once you move on to the large cities you'll have a great time blending with the crowd and sneaking around the rooftops.wow 5 bucks? Ill eat a bowl of cerial instead of mcdonalds today and that'll pay for this game and maybe keep me from gaining a pound
Well if you want to figure out why they are using the machine to unlock his genetic memories then you need to play more than 30 seconds of the game. I dunno why it could be a game breaker for you considering it really has nothing to do with the gameplay itself, and there is a story inside the memories as well as outside of them.well i just bought this off steam.. for $5

No ... unless you like collecting hundreds of meaningless flags and enjoy extensive task repetition.

Bingo. +1 for hitting the nail on the head..

Nobody forces you to collect the flags... The game is really fun and has great freedom. The combat is awesome and the story line is what kept me going to the end. It has its flaws but the game is fantastic and is definitely worth $5.I picked it up for the $5 sale......I don't like the console-concentrated controls, so I'm remapping them.
Also, I don't have widescreen....looks like I'm stuck with that part.
That being said, I'm sure I'll be able to get into it, graphics seem very good at least through the tutorial.
I have an open mind, i'm sure it will be worth more than the $5 for the game experience.
It really is a sweet game, but i couldn't imagine playing it with a keyboard. If you have a controller i would suggest using it.I picked it up for the $5 sale......I don't like the console-concentrated controls, so I'm remapping them.

I only have my trusty ole Gamecube controller....can that work for a PS3 game?
I've never had any trouble with the mouse & keyboard settings. Try it first before running off to get a controller.
30€ in my Steam. :o

mine too, ridiculous.. don't know how steam manages to sell games in europe, i've seen it for 15€ in stores. i am sort of interested in playing it but will probably wait till it goes below 10€ or hold out and bet on AC 2 to fix the numerous issues it has.
As for $5, i don't know what kind of money you have to spend but that sounds like a steel!

i felt the exact same way. i hated the virtual reality, but really keep playing it, it gets way better
The game doesn't get very good until your first assassination. This is where you see what AC is all about. Just don't try to traverse the entire Kingdom area in low profile mode. Sneak only when you're approaching a view point you wish to climb. Otherwise, just rush it because the guards are looking for assassins and will attack you regardless of how you act.
The price doesn't matter. It's just not worth playing. I've had it since it came out for PS3; dropped it after a couple of hours and haven't touched it since. Stupid game with lame story and dialogue; repetitive, unfulfilling gameplay.jedinatI couldn't disagree more. AC is one of my favourite games of this generation. I played through it all on PS3.. I could hardly put it down, actually. It was on sale for $5 earlier this year and I bought it off Steam.. mostly just to play around with much-improved graphics. I'm kinda surprised you could gather all that from two hours of gameplay...
