HD 7950

res 1920x1080

Average FPS : 30

Wtf am I doing wrong? All the graphical settings are turned to low, or is the game just poorly optimized?

I dont suppose I can get my money back.

Game is poorly optimized. What's your CPU?

You're gonna have to specify your CPU.

It's a case of poor optimization. With some CPUs, it runs great. I'm guessing when they made the game with AnvilNext engine, they didn't bother to test it much. It doesn't surprise me though, Brotherhood, Revelations, had poor optimization as well. You could be sporting a great CPU+GPU combo and their games couldn't hold a consistent framerate to save its life.

I had the same CPU awhile back and had similar performance, so it looks normal to me.

So I've heard. Then it must be an AMD or some specific type of configuration which it doesn't agree with. With my new build (below) it ran perfectly from start to finish.

It should be perfectly fine with your rig. The game is very CPU dependant and you're definitely on the safe side.

Exactly. My rig is weaker and it ran perfect. AC3 is the weakest in the series though. It's not awful like so many people say it is, but not as great as AC2 or Brotherhood. I personally had heaps of issues knowing where to go most of the time.

I've heard mixed things about AC3... most say, like you, that it's not the best in the series. Main reason I want to get 3 is because I haven't played the past games and have been told you don't need to with AC3. Is this true?

Not at all. If you really want to enjoy the AC Series, play from first and then in order. Picking up AC3 would be like starting a book halfway.

Here is the order btw:

AC

AC2

AC2: Brotherhood

AC2: Revelations

AC3

AC4: Black Flag (coming at end of year)

Oh ok... I've heard from a few people who never played the other games but played AC3 and really enjoyed it. I don't really have time to play all of them, but maybe I'll look up a "story so far" video before I play it.
