Is the ati 4850 a good card for running games such as cod4, cod 5, and maybe cod6(MW2) and other games such as fallout 3, oblivion etc? maybe crysis at med settings?

Heck yea, definitely, I got one a few months back and it runs Crysis on mostly high at 1680*1050 with a good 25-45 FPS. It's a great card, though there might be better out now for the same price, i haven't been looking at hardware much lately.

Its a great card, or you could go for the 4770. Its as good as the 4850, runs cooler, quieter and doesnt draw and more power so it could be run off a smaller PSU. And its cheaper and a great overclocker.

If you can afford the extra I would recommend a 1GB 4870 for gaming at 1680x1050 or less
