got to www.newegg.com i have two 4850's in crossfire and im now saving for two 4870's x2 the 4870 is a bit better than the 4850 so if your on a budget get the 4850 if not then go for a 4870 or 4870x2

I would recommend ATi HD 4870 2X 2GB in crossfire along with nVidia Geforce 8800 GT and a nVidia Geforce GTX 280 1 GB Extreme!

The 4870X2 is way outta my price range...I cant figure out why the 4870 is so much more expensive then the 4850 if it's only a bit more better then the 4850 anyway this is the card i want to get...

I've seen 4850s for way less than that. Sapphire has one for $150 after a rebate, and it comes with an aftermarket cooler.

Great card.

Overclocked, and cooler than reference.

The 4870 uses GDDR5 instead of GDDR3 which the 4850 uses. It also has a memory clock about 1200 Mhz higher because of that. To put it simply, it's faster.

Hey guy's sorry for all the questions but i found out that the 9800 GTX+ out performs the 4850 for the same price at newegg.com so if you guy's had to choose between the 2 which 1 would you take??

I would take the HD 4850 because of its better anti-aliasing performance and also since it gains on the 9800GTX+ at high resolutions.

So I suppose it depends on your monitor size/resolution.
