This one talks about diamonds R770 black edition as well to give some numbers on the overclocks:

I think.. well... I think holy crap?

If this is going to work as it looks like it will.. then I think ATI is really going to hit the entire market this gen with the 4850, 4870, 4870x2, and this Super 4870 with unlocked bios with higher binning.

So this is going to be the GPU equiv of Black Edition eh? Very interesting.

Why would you doubt it? Diamond already has one made and will have it available to retailers, not just that particular custom pre-build company, for all of us to buy.

Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked the HD4870 and it became infinity overclocked. This is the Super R770. But yeah, I was about to pick up a HD4870 but I may hold out for the top bin :D

Pre-installed water cooling and the extra 512 MB of gddr5 are going to make it much more expensive than 300$. Vanilla hd4870 is good enough for me.

Maybe not as much. There are very viable 3rd market coolers out there that should cool these without a issue. I wouldnt be surprised to see some very interesting combinations of board makers and 3rd party cooling companies.

People have said that around 850/870 core that the 4870 gets a good boost. I like this idea because you dont have to flash your bios, your getting a higher binned gpu, pre-installed custom cooling, and additional 512mb of ram along with naturally high in-house OCs.

Overall this is something that has can make people alot of money. It will of course cost more but I can see this being very popular. Alot of people are afraid of slashing the bios and installing a 3rd party cooling. This does it for you and keeps the warranty. For alot of people I bet it is worth the money if they want to KEEP a true single slot solution.
