[QUOTE="Juandonde"]I say get the quad because you can always upgrade the vid card later, and when support for quad core comes you will be prepared.loco145
The same applies for the CPU :)

lol exactly. the only difference is that ill see the performance increase with the GTX275 now, but with the quad i will see it later.

I can definitely see your point. But think about it like this. A quad core CPU would be future proof for a long time, the GTX 275 would not. And the GTS 250 will run your games just fine for now. Trust me on this. By the end of next year, you'll be wishing that you had a nice DX11 card and a quad core processor. You've seen what the Unigine engine can do. I can't wait to see what the big devs can do with games built from the ground up for DX11 :D

Then your decision comes down to which is cheaper to buy on its own: The quad or the gtx 275?

I would base my decision on what games you plan on playing, and how you are gonna use the PC for stuff other than gaming. Me, I would go with the quad, why, cause I play enough games that benefit from it now, GTA4, Supreme Commander, and MS FS X (it does not get a huge boost from quad but some). This is a difficult decision, but I think I am leaning towards the quad, but I don't think there is a right or wrong answer.

the thing is im not the "upgrade guy". lol i cant even believe im upgrading. pars are always on short, very limited choices, very expensive prices...etc. so i really cant rely on anything other than what i currently have. ill make my decision on sunday at maximum.

What kind of motherboard do you have? You could likely get a nice cooler and overclock the hell out of the CPU that you already have. Overclocked, it would last you quite some time still. Oh, and have you checked out NiBiTor yet? You can use it to increase your GPU voltage without even touching the video card. My cards were maxed out @1.15v already, so I had to do some soldering =\

my E2180 has only 1 mb of L2 cache. and its maximum OC is 3Ghz. the E7500 can overlcok easily to 4Ghz. the mobo is not decided yet. but its going to be something like P5K or a Gigabyte one.

Noooo to the P5QL SE. I have this motherboard (lucky you) and I can tell you the options for overclocking are lacking. Specifically, there's no option to adjust the FSB strap DRAM which means your overclocking is barriered by your RAM. This may not affect you btw. I still managed a small OC. Don't let me totally put you off. Congrats on the negotiating. Also, you bought a 1080p monitor :O well I guess you won't be able to totally max games.
