This is driving me insane. During many different games I get the random pop-up "window audio device graph isolation has stopped working" and I need to restart my computer to get audio again and it becomes an annoying hassle. I have looked EVERYWHERE on the net for answers but I cannot find anything. I have tried updating drivers and using different drivers.

I have SoundMax integrated audio; before i was using updated soundMax drivers, i got the error. Now im using Microsoft dirvers and i still get the error. Sometimes i can go hours without the error or sometimes only 20 minutes. I am using Vista-64 bit. Or at least does someone know a command I could use in task manager to restart it so I dont need to reboot my pc? Thanks anyways:)

hmmm, I think its a heat issue and you should go buy an external usb sound solution. I have a usb xfi that I use and love. Good thing about it is that I can connect my IPOD. The reason I say this is because you have been on for 20 minutes and up which is plenty of time to have a high ambient case temp. Could also go into device manager and see if there is a conflict somewhere but if there was it would start up that way.

yes its essentialy a sound card thats outside your computer. Try it out and see if it works, if not.....take it back. You will have to install some software on your computer that comes with your external usb sound solution. One other thought though......have you added any hardware to your pc lately?

You can shut it down through task manager. Click on the processes tab, find the driver, right click and select "end process". I don't think you can restart it that way. Most hardware drivers get loaded while Windows is loading.

If you don't want to deal with external equipemnt there are internal X-Fi cards you can choose from. If you do decide to go with an new sound hardware be sure to turn off the integrated sound through BIOS.

A good, simple, soundcard should pretty much cost less than $50 bucks.

Just get an X-Fi Xtreme Audio or something.

When this happens, instead of a reboot, click start, in the search box type 'services.msc', hit enter, scroll down to 'windows audio' and in the left hand box clik 'restart the service'
