Hi all,

I have a very serious and annoying problem. So far I have not been able to find any solutions to it and have been unable to pinpoint a root cause. When I plug in my headphones or speakers into the front audio jack for my Antec 900 case, I get a faint buzzing / humming sound. I notice that when I move a window around on the screen it actually changes the tone of the buzz while I am moving it. When I plug those same speakers into the back of the computer (directly into the motherboard) there is no humming or buzzing at all. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard, Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz, and a Geforce 7900gt. The first thing I thought was that the cable running from the front audio jack to the motherboard could be picking up noise from other parts of the system and feeding it back through the headphones. I moved the cable around inside the case while listening to the buzz, and I picked up no variation in the sound, which led me to conclude that it was not catching interference from other parts of the system because if it was the buzz would have altered while moving the cable. The other thing it could be I guess is excess noise shooting back up through the headphones due to poor grounding of the cable running from the front jacks to the mobo, but I am not sure how to confirm this. I made sure all cables to the motherboard are connected properly, and my PC is grounded. Since there is no static when using the jacks on the mobo I figured that could potentially root out a motherboard problem, but I can't say that for certain. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this issue and perhaps offer a solution? I mean is it the motherboard, the case, or the cable connecting the front audio jacks of the case to the mobo...or god forbid all three? I am also curios as to whether or not anyone has or is experiencing the same thing?

Try using your headphones in the rear jack and see if you have any problems,if you do, its your pc. Then if you really cant bear with the humming, buy a sound card( a decent one though)
