[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"][QUOTE="Cranler"] Other people with similar specs have constant 60+ fps unless theirs an explosion. He's dropping into the 40's with nothing going on.Cranler
If you read his original post, he said it drops to 55-60 FPS. which is very good for this game. His graphics card is perfectly fine, BC2 doesn't even use all of my 8800 GTX. BC2 has frame rate drops all of the time, even for no reason. It is normal.

I didnt say his graphics card wasnt fine, just that something is causing an issue. I have a 920 at 3ghz with 5870 cf. I play with vsync beacause the game is just too unsmooth with it off. I never drop below 60 unless theirs a huge explosion nearby. If you watch the video he actually dropped to 48fps with nothing going on.

Well i can understand the fps drops when i look out the windows because theres much more to build up. But it should not drop that much. Am just so confused right now 50% says no ur fine its the game and the other 50% says "something is wrong it should not drop that much when nothings going on" .....

Should you listen to someone who has an 8800gtx or someone who has an Ati cf setup like you?

I'd try different catalyst drivers. This is the best place to go for ATI questions http://forums.amd.com/game/categories.cfm?catid=227&zb=652117

Right, because me knowing what the game does depends on my graphics card.... All I was saying is that random frame rate drops are very common in BC2.

You have a 3 year old gpu and a slow dual core. You have no clue what performance he should be experiencing.

Heya. I was reading over all the posts and decided to hop in game and see if I can supply any info that might help. Current settings are as follows. 2048x1152 resolution. All Detail levels set to High. 4x MSAA 8x AF. Vsync Off. HBAO On. System Specs: i7 930 stock 2.8GHz. Asus Rampage II gene. 6GB Corsair ram. PNY GTX 480, Stock speeds. I loaded up the 3rd level, Heart of Darkness and walked through normally continuously noob tubin' the houses. I kept my eye on the fps 90% of the time, except for lining up max damage shots. FPS: Max 82. Avg 65-75. Lowest 62. 100% accurate test, not really. But I did my best to constantly watch. Hope that helps in a comparison sense. I know for a fact that the 5970 is a beast of a card. A very good friend and lan mate of mine runs one. He plays on a 23" LG and from what I saw at the last lan we attended the game was butter smooth on max settings. I'm unsure of his AA and AF settings and such though. Visually it looked stunning so I'm assuming where was a decent amount. Have you exchanged the card? It is quite possible that you got a faulty one. I was running a 5870 before I went back to Nvidia, and my first card was a dud. Happens to all makes and models, it's quite possible. I hope you have luck fixing your issue.

Thanks for all the help provided guys. I just reformated my computer for the second time. So i will see if the game runs any better..i dont think the card is faulty because i get good scores in 3dmark vantage and ungine heaven and i get good fps in dirt 2 like 80+ fps all the time and in left 4 dead 2 i get like 110-250fps. Maxed settings on both games.

I never said I did! All I said is that random frame rate drops are common in BC2. What's with the aggressive attitude?

Keep trying different catalyst drivers, I recommend trying 10.4 or 10.5, seriously. ATI has A LOT of problems with their drivers.

Nice results, but from my experience, the multiplayer FPS is significantly lower than singleplayer and far less stable.

If its anything its prolly a driver issue, if you perform good on all those games, then the drivers you have must work great for THOSE GAMES, but drivers are weird, they can work fantastic for 8-9 games, and really crap out on 1 or 2 games.

But I would honestly be pretty happy at those settings and Resolution, with a minimum framerate of 50-55fps. on BC2,

I do not think anything is wrong with the card itself bro, not if it performs awesome on other games, like I said if it is anything, its the drivers conflicting with the game.

Not to mention BFBC2 has its' share of problems, and is the reason why I probably will be skipping it.

na, I'm good, hit detection problems, no in game voip (on a team based game lqtm) extremely variable in "performance", no prone

Not to mention Black ops, and MOH right around the corner, and I have enough shooters to suffice me for a while. I wouldn't be missing too much!

BC 2 is funny like that ;), short version you can't, long version, you can't because EA wanted to do dedicated servers this way and the lag will be a lot higher than having real "dedicated" servers, and that might not happen until they forget about BC 2 or they don't care anymore, for security reasons, because letting the community host real dedicated servers = multiplayer piracy.

True enough, but I wanted a test for him to judge pure performance, without tossing in the variables of internet speed, server connection / stability, and lag.
