Is it just me or do the weapons seem off? As in handling and accuracy. I'm not sure what it is... floaty... weapon bob... but something about aiming doesn't feel as tight as it does in other FPS games.

What do you guys think? The game is still great fun, but it just feels a bit off.

Also, what does adjusting the yaw and pitch factor do? Would that help this problem?

Use ironsights and short burst with the assauld rifles and the accuracy will be fine. Use full auto while moving and even at short range you will miss more bullets than hit. I did snipe Recons with AR. Shotguns are very destructive at short range, either 1 point blank shot or 2-3 at few meters. Some people uses the 1911 pistol at mid range since does a lot of damage per hit with good accuray, but my fav is the Glock 17 because the size of the magazine.

I think that most of weapons in BF 2 were more lethal, because aside from pistols and submachineguns ANY other weapon in the game kill in a single headshot, while in BC 2 you usually need 2 with most of AR. But some other weapons as GL are more efficient and consistent. Overall I like more the new gunplay.

I got that feeling too with the PC version. I know for a fact that there is a problem with the hit detection at close range.

I always find the accuracy of weapons in BF2 to be absolute crap. BF BC2 on the PC however seems to suffer from some major accuracy issues as well...

Yeah, this is what usually has me gnashing my teeth. Three shot-gun blasts loosing out to a knife is pretty annoying - I took that shotty for a reason.

Anyhow, I suspect that it is all about he-said/she-said locations - or lag in other words. This always seems to favor the party that is moving.

That starting AK that the assault class gets is awful. I agree with you. However, play some more and your 3rd unlock in the Assault class is the Xm8 rifle, which is miles better and makes a ton of difference.

Seriously? Now I know why I lose close quarter combats with assault weapons.

There is indeed hit detection problems in the Beta. I too found it floaty, as you say, and while I have no idea what the yaw and pitch factor do, I thought it felt better to drag both of them to zero. Try to fiddle a little.

ye , shooting is pretty akward , and close range detected is pritty much F***** up ... hit detection in overal is pretty weird ... but i believe in full version it will be way smoother than beta ... also i would suggest using red dot , its great thing just aim into neck or upper chest and do 3 round burst they die fast and it easy to get headshot because of recoil... if target is moving aim a bit further than he is , skins are lagging and bullets actualy take time to travel so if ur target is FAR away aim an inch further ... and the biggest tip allways mark targets with Q by default , it gives you better view also your team mates will help you ... its just beta , the orginal game will be way better , i BELIEVE IN DICE !

I really need the ammo thing, the ''waste half a clip to kill the enemy'' thing makes me use ammo a lot faster. And what's up with the server browser searching for servers for like a minute or something, and everytime you have to visit it, you have to load it all over again?

Yes, it's terrible. Whenever someone mentions how the weapons feel nice in BC2, it makes me go :| The only BF game where I've actually enjoyed the weapon feel was BF 1943, and to a lesser extent, BF2. I know some of the BC2 problems are due to lag and hit detection, but I can't see it improving THAT much for launch.

The weapons are extremely accurate if you fire using burst. At close range there seems to be some sort of inaccuracy though. I have shot people up close, and i see the little x show on the screen so i know i hit them, but when i get killed and the killcam comes up i noticed the guy has 100% health.

I feel like the only one who has no problem with the hit detection and have been playing for a couple days now.

Now iam not really a skilled player in any regard but i can quite easily kill people half way across the map. I just use ironsight and shoot in short bursts.

Stop firing full auto. You guys need to count in the fact that the weapons become very inaccurate after the 5th shot. I have no troble with firing in short bursts and hitting enemys from across the map. Also remember that their is bullet drop, so it will take about half a secound for the bullet to reach its target from a longdistance.

Yeah the PC version has atrocious hit detection, but you really need to burst fire on top of that.

Well I do burst fire. I don't sit there spraying ammo like Rambo. But even still, the weapons need work. I have also noticed problems at close range. I've sat there and shot at someone at close range, didn't really do anything, only to have them knife me or kill me in one or two shots with a pistol. Really annoying.

I can understand accuracy decreasing while just firing in full auto, but come on... at point blank range that's ridiculous. Even a kid could kill someone at point blank range with an assault rifle.

Yeah, for every game I've ever played beta, what you see in open beta is what you get on launch.

For those that don't seem to mind.. you'd have to play the 360 version to notice the difference. It almost makes the 360 version seem closer to hardcore mode.. people die a LOT easier.

The AEK-971 is a great weapon, what the hell are you talking about? The hit detection right now is just terrible, making most weapons really bad. The XM8 is a good gun though, and I really don't like the F2000 at all :/

It took a bit to get used to, but now that i'm used to it i like it. Discouredges running and gunning, makes things more tactical (you cant sprint around the map blasting people in the face like you can in COD games).

I wish it took less bullets to drop someone though, it feels like you can shoot at someone for ages and still not kill them, although again this discouradges running and gunning, which i love (especially since my twitch skills are very weak).
