batman region locking

I recently bought a copy of Batman Arkham Asylum in India and I plan to use it on my pc in the U.S. However, I have heard from some sources that the game is region locked and will not run outside of India (or the region in which it is locked). However, other sources say the game is region free and should work in the U.S. Can someone clarify whether or not the game will work?

Steam does not allow you to activate games from different regions, as in your example a game from india in US. Batman is a GFWL game so I think youll be fine though I ofcourse may be wrong.
