For me i realy like the sci-fi feel of 2142 due to the vehicles but i disliked the dark landscape.DrDoomed
Play the Camp and Suez maps (each are desert maps, and very bright). Camp is the favorite of all, as it's mostly an infantry map (only 2 Battlewalkers and some jeeps) and one BF2 players would like; Suez (Titan mode) is the best for armor and gunships with that end-of-all-ending Titan battle.
Unlike BF2, BF2142 is very balanced and the devs constantly tweak the weapons to ensure no one weapon is the "best". For example, the Voss is the favorite for close up combat with Assault classes, but it's poor at mid-range; Baur is prefered by anti-snipers (one rifle that will out snipe the snipers at their own game) and the mid-range killer, but it's smaller clip size makes it poor as an in-your-face assault rifle.
In BF2142 you really need to figure out which weapons/vehicles you'll prefer to use and train hard in mastering them, as there's an equal counterpart -- Battlewalkers can be blown up by one Sniper with RDX (he'll be cammoed and just has to run, decloak, and unload 4 RDX packs then BOOM), or even anyone shooting at the vents under it; gunships can be blown from the sky with AAs; SAAWs; Titan cannons; RDX and even motion mines (really cool demolition that Engineers use).
From what I've played 64 player Camp maps last about 25 to 30 minutes a game. Suez about 40 minutes. Suez (conquest mode) with 32 players can last ***2hrs*** per game.
