Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2, or Battlefield 1942

Which one do you think is better and why?

Personally, I think Battlefield 2142 is my favorite. Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942 tie for second. Battlefield: BC2 is bound to be my new fav though :D

I like Battlefield 2 best. I just never got into 1942 or 2142. Plus Battlefield 2 has a ton of awesome mods.

I like 2142 the most because it has Mechs, titan mode, and other stuff. Then i like BF 2. I do not like 1942

BF2 because of all the awesome mods, but if you're talking vanilla, 2142 for sure.

I actually liked it a lot. It's funny though how Dice has completely forgeten it, by calling Battlefield 3, Battlefield 2.

I enjoyed BF 2142 the most. I liked the spin it put on things, the weapons and upgrades were truly awesome (engineer with antitank rifle FTW!), and the vehicles were just great...those two-legged mechs were so much fun.

BF 2 was pretty good as well.

And for some reason I just didnt plain like BF 1942...felt way too arcade

BF 2 is my favorite closely followed by 1942.

1942 is my favorite as I haven't played th eothers. I was really addicted to 1942 for awhile though.

Shame since Vietnam is actually a place where not many games have taken place in. It's like an untapped gold mine. Kind of like how WW2 was, well before that setting was raped to death.Duckman5

You'd need jungles and forests similar to Crysis to make a Vietnam game work since a lot of the fighting were in the jungle or around firebases and rice paddies. Of course, there was also Tet and the resulting urban fighting.

I never did play Battlefield Vietnam. I liked BF1942 with the Desert Combat Extended (DCX) mod. BF2 remains my favorite by far for online. But, I play more of BF1942/DCX (single-player and as time-waster) on the road because my laptop is too weak for BF2.

very cool topic... i love 2142. best game in the series imo. titan mode is epic and the mechs are just too cool.

i got to say Batllefield 2 because Battlefield 2142 doesn't have so many maps ant it's all laser weapons that makes it a little boring while Battlefield 1942 is really fun to play with friends but it just doesn't add up today.Teh_Sockpuppet

On topic, BF1942 was awesome. I'd really like to see DICE brings back things like artillery and cannon emplacments. Bombarding shorelines from ships prior to watercraft landings was epic and just simply more fun having the commander simply call in an arty strike. Although I feel 2142 did the best as far as air combat. The aircraft are strong, but not so grossly overpowered. 2142 also the better unlock system. It actually changed how you played your class rather then simply give you a better gun.

BF2142 has the most options but I never got into the whole sci-fi theme. BF2 is my favorite. BF1942 is way outdated.

And if he said that I still wouldn't know what he was talking about. All the weapons were projectile or missle based just like every other BF game. I really get the feeling that alot of people simply wrote off 2142 without ever giving it a try.
