i Love both games,

though there very different.

CS:S is kinda serious and rather hard to get started but can be extremely rewarding.

battlefield 2142 is both rewarding and fun but can get boring if you play for too long.

i think 2142 just gets my vote, but try to get both if you can.

also CS-S sucks and battlefield 2 is better than 2142 but i only played the beta of 2142 and iddnt like it. Waiting for quake wars :)

They're both different games. CS is more tatical than BF, you duck behine crates, work as a team etc. BF is more about huge shootouts on a big map, flying planes and driving tanks, etc

I would say BF 2142 has a lot more teamwork needed than CS: Source where one man could win a game.

I'd choose DoD:S if I were you ;) but CS:S without a doubtover BF2142. I have bf2142 with the northern strike expansion and it honestly doesn't get any play. It's somewhat fun to rank up your toon, but I just don't really enjoy it that much. Also, BF2142 does not support widescreen resolutions if you're new computer is going to havea widescreen monitor.delirin

definitely agree that Day of Defeat Source OWNS Counter-Strike Source. way more fun, more team involved. however i'd also say that BF2142 is better than cs:s. counter strike is quite competetive online, even to the point where a lot of noobs tend to sook and the games become a team based deathmatch/grudge-match. people just buy the big weapons on go on sprees trying to get all the kills first, disregarding any kind of team play. plus it gets boring real quick.

bf2142 offers WAY more things to do and see, but it is a lot more vehicle-based than BF2, which can get annoying if ur stuck on foot a lot of the time. and as for widescreen, theres a simple solution for that, i can run mine on 1680x1050 resolution. you just gotta tweak the Command Line.

I say BF2/2142.

tbh? I'd buy the Half-Life Orange box :P You'll get all the HL2 games and TF2 and CSS etc etc.

Counter strike source hands down, css has more players as well, good graphics too, fun but very repetitive

bf2142 on the other hand...gets boring in a week, very repetitive as well, except has more stuff to do such as drive vehicles, but shooting in the game is poor and lacks skill, CSS all the way

CSS doesnt get repetitive for me cause it just has that x factor that makes it sooo addictive.

CS:S with out a doubt. I have both BF2142 and CS:S and CS:S is so much better. I've been playing CS for like 6 years and it's probably the best FPS ever imo. I'm not saying BF2142 is bad, because it isn't, I like it but it can get a bit boring at times. It's definatly not as good as BF2. So I say get CS:S.

well you should know that bf2 is way much better than bf2142 !!

If you can accept the anoying Steam and Downloading speeds, get it.

If you like tanks, future weapons, driving anything, Get BF2142.
