loving the look of it all and the way they show war, not booms and bangs all the time. Its also surprising that they're showing PC gameplay and not just 360blangenakker*Ahem* DICE is not Crytek. They stay true to PC. I know I know.. walls of flame are coming at me. xD

I dont see why, You're 100% correct.
Yeah, the animation is so fluid and beautiful, when they was running down that alley I was like "woah".The lighting and animations look fantastic!

I agree too... At least DICE didn't succumb to the piracy claim. If that's the tre lighting engine, that looks amazing.-CheeseEater-Not to be a troll or anything,,,,but its still not as good as Killzone 2 :) I know that games lighting is very exaggerated, but damn it looks good!

I think that qualifies as atmosphere, not as being actually superior lighting :D Agreed. Killzone 2 and 3 uses way too many visual effects. They're subtle but it's there. I was playing Killzone 3 and I just couldn't stand how it looked. But the gameplay was a lot more fun than KZ2 though, which mattered more to me this time around. I hated the sluggish gameplay of KZ2.
Seems realistic, hopefully there will be lot of settings in the advanced graphics options to play around with.
It looks amazing, visually, but I just can't help recall COD4. I already spoke to some others about levels like "Charlie Don't Surf" and how much this looks like that. And this is on top of BC2's single player trying to ape Modern Warfare. I hope there are some original scenarios at least beyond the "ambush" and the "find the bazooka to take out the tank" tropes. Nonetheless, it'll probably be worth getting for the multiplayer alone. biggest_loser
my thoughts exactly. i couldn't care less about the campaign, though. i'm eager to see what they have in store for us in the MP... i bet it's gonna be awesome.
it sure looks damn good.
It looks good, but then again looks is at the bottom of my prioriy list.
Games that look realistic but plays like an arcade game is not why I invest in a gaming capable PC.
And isn't people getting tired of all these modern setting shooters?
It's like that wave a few years ago when there were ww2 shooters popping up left and right and finally it was just too much.

definetly, but i can easily handle one more BF-title, even in modern setting. fingers crossed for Battlefield 2143 with this engine. now that would be something!
actually, it could be so awesome, that i propably couldn't handle it anymore.
I am waiting for it to become available on steam. Hang on, will the game be Steam only like BC2 was?Time to preorder...

Charlie don't surf was a completly different type of action and atmosphere compared to this...

This is Battlefield, so it's fine. Now, I do agree with you and I hope they would concentrate on Mirror's Edge 2 after this.
Ooooooo more scripted single player scenes. Yay!
Wait a minute, I think I've already played Call of Duty
And its modern day so its just like Call of Duty. Also its multiplayer, wow, what a Call of Duty ripoff. Why cant game designers just be original?Ooooooo more scripted single player scenes. Yay!

Ok let me just say i hate cod for the most part. However if theres one thing that i love about the cod games and hated how it was missing in BC2 was.... LONGER Reloads if all the bullets were used! Seriously i know its a minor mechanic but i loved when Reach used it and now that BF3 has it i am a very happy man....walkingdream
Umm how will my reload time increase if I am just switching mags? Unless I'm filling mags on the battlefield (which is idiotic), it shouldn't take me any longer to replace my mag in my rilfe once I have depleated it or if I just shot a few rounds out of it.
That said, BF3 shouldn't give us ammo counts, just magazine counts. If you reload when the mag is still partially full, you don't lose the ammo but when you reload you reload from the mag, you only have the half full mag left. Just like a real solider. It emphasizes using the entire mag before reloading and puts more on the support guys giving the ammo.
And its modern day so its just like Call of Duty. Also its multiplayer, wow, what a Call of Duty ripoff. Why cant game designers just be original? To be fair, BF2 was modern day way way before even COD 4 was announced, along with the ranking up and experience-point system.[QUOTE="simardbrad"]

What so Half-Life 2 is a Call of Duty clone because its got a lot of set pieces? I was simply trying to state that what he said made absolutely no sense.[QUOTE="simardbrad"]

I wouldn't know i'm not a gun mechanic, but i love the idea behind it. Plus it looks cooler and more badass :P I like your idea about just using magazine count and not the ammo count however. Would change things up from other first person shooters and probably bring teams closer together because of ammo ect.The actual graphics are not impressive, its just that they use dx10 all over the place. Well done for that but i bet the console versions will look like crap. Anyway, "follow" and the game is linear in the near future, cod 4 ripoff anyone? It looks just like how moh supose to be. Now on the gameplay itself? They did not show much apart from following someone around and a cod-like slow mo effect when someone gets killed  how original and not ripped from cod...and finally some shooting which is, well too much like moh for my taste but with recoil. I dont know, it looks bad (the shooting that is) kinda gives me the feeling that the gunshot sounds are not sync with the recoil. Weird i know but the actual shooting does not really get me, it remindes me of moh, bc2, i dont really dig it, id like something more like battlefield 2.[QUOTE="Elann2008"][QUOTE="blangenakker"]loving the look of it all and the way they show war, not booms and bangs all the time. BC 2 wasn't steam only. Some of us still buy retail!
I don't think EA likes Steam that much, so they don't make steam required for their games.

A few days ago i talked with Danny Blison (THQ CEO) on facebook about THQ pc gamesa he told me that Darksiders 2 will have DX11 support too and that maybe all THQ games from now on will have DX11 support!

The footage was severely disappointing in my mind, not sure why. I guess I wasn't certain that the footage that was spliced into the teaser video released a lil while ago was single player, but it's confirmed now. I like my military shooters, I guess just with the intensity that was BF3 I was hoping for something that was less of an arcade shooting gallery. Not totally realistic, but leaning more towards the realistic side than what I saw in this video.
Oh well. I'm getting this game for mp anyway.
I guess we now realize the reason for the delay and announcement of multiplat. I bet BF3 multiplayer was pretty much done a year ago, but EA decided to turn the franchise into a serious CoD contender. Make an intense SP campaign and release it on consoles in addition to PC.
Looks amazing, like those small movment animations like when running and turning a corner and when the guy throws the smoke grenade.
I'm so used to watching these sort of clips with controller buttons popping up it gave me a nice tiny surprise even though pc being lead and this is dice made a nice change:P
btw retail bc2 is non steam also.

Same here. It was cheaper on retail, when I've bought it.
