From the sounds of things it seems quite certainly going to be a multi-platform.

It wouldn't make sense asking for XBOX Gold membership for a PC Beta Key as stated in the limited edition.

So for those who still think that this is a PC exclusive, I am sad to say that probably will not be the case. Noting this however, maybe the PC version will still be better in the sense that it'll have better graphics, maybe different maps (larger presumably) , and probably more players online.

So I don't think PC gamers have to really worry, I think DICE will reward us regardless of what you own a console or PC.

It makes sense thought to have multiplatform because not everyone has the money to buy a high end gaming PC which is generally what is required to run Battlefield games. Like for example, Battlefield 2 ran the best if you had a fairly pricy gaming PC. It did run okay on average PC's but the graphics and textures ruined the gaming expierience. So really, by putting the game for consoles, they are doing a good job b/c this way more people who can't afford the high end PC's can play it on MUCH cheaper consoles.

Well that is my opinion, with some solid proof i must say to why this is going to be multiplatform. Feel free to criticize if you want, but please be sure to back up your criticism with proof or an explanation. (i.e. don't just say "You're are stupid and don't know anything... ")

Unless you have constructive feedback, please keep your comments to yourself.

It's obviously going to be multiplat, nobody here is going to argue that. However, Battlefield 3 is being developed for PC first and consoles second and will use DirectX11, with so support for DirectX9. Google before you post my friend.

Well, I was looking at some other forums, and there were people still arguing about it not being a multiplatform.

But yes, I agree, won't be as good as it could have been, but still should be better than Bad Company 2.

As long as they have 64 man online, I'll be happy.

point is its being made with consoles, and all their limitations, in mind. If this was not the case, the console versions wouldn't even be announced yet. I think people wanted a no holds barred, skys the limit, true successor to the hit PC game, Battlefield 2.

Well said.

It will be nice to see though how good they can make the console version. I hope they don't comprimise too much though.

Yup that is right. Consoles I think only support upto DirectX8 or DirectX9... don't remember which one. What i know for sure is that the DICE team are developing the PC version using DirectX11. The console versions will definetly not look as good as the computer (for obvious reasons), but the fact that there is a battlefield 3 on console is a nice enough fact...

due to the fact that this game is now on consoles, I can almost guarantee you that there will be singleplayer campaign just like Bad Company.

Consoles definately support DX9...I heard that they are even capable of partial DX10 support.

So? They can't make the console version maps for 24 players, and the PC version ones for 64.

Personally I'd rather they focus all their energy on the PC version first. Basically, this game should be a PC timed exclusive.

I guess it comes down to opinon...personally i thought BC2's single player was very weak (the best part of it was the jabs at MW2 ;) )

I hoping it is going to be like what they did with Battlefield 2 and release a "Modern Combat" version for Battlefield 3 and just let the PC run with BF3 giving us for mod tools and support. Getting tired of half baked "PC" games that are basically ported console games with PC features being thrown in as an after thought.

Ive played over 600 hours on BF2 multiplayer, have you even played 20 hours of BC2 singleplayer ... point proven, focus on the portion of battlefield that has always been the shelf life preserver, not some silly story that you play once ... or twice and then toss away. Spend all that money and production value (and its quite a high number) and put it into the fricken MP like they did with 1942 and BF2 ...

Well, if battlefied 3 is trully multiplat, then that case does not exist. Devs nowadays no longer make seperate versions for consoles and pc, they are all the same game.
