It's a bit weird they mention Nvidia cards and didn't care to mention any ATI cards. Probably Nvidia payed them a big chunk of cash to promote there graphics cards. Any ways would 2 2GB 6950's run this game on Ultra high?

GTR12

Probably, but my heart really wants to say no, just because we need a Crysis killer.

I could care less about a "Crysis killer". I would imagine that 2 6950's will do ultra.

Hmm, I'll have to wait for the game to come out and see what people think then.

i think thats bull. It is being developed on consoles so the game wont be too demanding.

blaznwiipspman1

The PC is the lead platfrom for devlopment on Battlefield 3, so it's not BS.

They had to use SLI to run it? Wow.

well they had to use 3 way GTX 580s SLI because of the all they stuff they showcased for the future of the Unreal Engine, in other words what they did was so advanced using DX-11 that 3 GTX 580s only could handle it.

Well I'm not spending any more money on my PC for a year, I've built a system that should last 1 1/2 years or more maxing out games at 1080p:

  • i5 2500k
  • OZC Vertex 3 120GB SSD
  • 2x 4GB DDR3 Kingston 1866MHz RAM
  • 2x XFX HD 6950 2GB

I'm more than certain I will have no problem running this game if its optimized at the highest settings.

Seeing as I lasted 2 years maxing out games with a HD 4890, I dont think this is a bad estimate in anyway... probably modest seeing as almost every game PC gamers are in fear of are also coming to console running on very old hardare so to be perfectly honest anyone like me with two GTX 560/HD 6950's is probably overkilled unless they are a 30" monitor.

My estimate for this game with GPU and resolution:

  • 1280x1024 - GTX 560/HD6950
  • 1680x1050 - GTX 570/HD6970
  • 1980x1080 - GTX 580 (Nvidia optimisted game)

The closest single-gpu card from AMD is the 6970. It's right on par with the GTX 570.

LordsLoss

They also said they hadn't optimized the features very much at that point of time, they could get it to run on a single 560ti if it was optimized better.

well if they do that teh better will be for everyone. even more im getting into the game business. right now we are using Unity 3D, but later on it seems i might go and use Unreal Engine.

also a real quick question on the SLI part. you guys think a 750w is good for 2 GTX 570s?

What brand and model is the PSU? If it is something like the Corsair tx 750 then it will run two 570's in SLI.
