hi im looking for a game of sorts that makes music where you twist some nobs and pull some buttons and it adds different effects and makes techno music. any help naming a game or peice of software like this would really be appreciated.
check out ejay, it's on amazon if you're in america and amazon uk if you're uk
there's dance ejay, techno ejay, trance ejay, hiphop ejay - i own most of them, it is awesome music creation software
it takes talent to make good music, but it doesn't take any talent to make music - it has thousands of samples and there's plenty of sample plug-in packs, or you can import your own sounds, and convert the whole thing into mp3 afterwards
i can email you a song i made as an example of the quality, if you wanna pm me an email address
I'm a musician myself and there are a couple of programs that I find useful. By far, IMHO the most easiest software for making music is Sony ACID. This is used by a lot of professionals although a lot of them will deny they're using it. Most people in the industry still use Qbase, but believe me... ACID is way easier to use. Acid has a very friendly GUI and it allows you to use SoftSynths as VST plugin. You can wire MIDI keyboards and use them to record tracks.
For mixing is use Steinberg Wavelab, the best one that's out there - at least for unprofessional use.
For making loops (drums, basses) I use Fruitly Loops. It's pattern orientated (tather than Acid's GUI) but proves to be very useful to make complicated loops. Ofcourse you can export this to any sound format you like.
As for softsynths, I love Native Instruments (but these are expensive) They're fexible and allow you to manipulate sound in ways of sustain, attack, vibro etc... Expecially Kompakt with the use of external soundslibraries is very usefull to make all kinds of music..
