Jut give me your thoughts.

I would have to say Valve cause well HL1 revolutionized the genre that id software created, HL2 didn`t innovate as much as HL1 but it raised the bar, no it VAULTED the bar for shooters and hell, all games. HL2 was the first game that really affected you emotionally and now with the Episodes, more and improved HL2 is coming. Counter-Strike: Source is the best online shooter I have ever played and in popularity it only falls second to Counter-Strike 1.6.  Day of Defeat: Source is to me atleast the best online WW2 shooter, no other has such realism and excitement. AND GUYS, think of Team Fortress 2, it`s like gone become the BEST online shooter and Portal is gone kick so much ass. So there is really no other company with so much future.

BLIZZARD

By the look of its sales in their respective games and a sponsor for its World Cyber Games, (Starcraft and Warcraft)

Even by the Survey of people who play online on WOW.

and for the fact that they haven't making up a sequel to their Powerful Trio Games (Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft)

....

Gray Matter (Now part of Treyarch) and Relic.

These two developers know how to use and create great particle effects in their fantastic games!!!

It's not Valve at all. If you want to talk about innovation just say ID software. They basically made the FPS genre and pushed 3D graphics onto the scene. If you want to talk about consistent quality titles year after year it's either Blizzard or Bioware.

Hmmm a few years back I might say Activision but now its probably Bioware or Blizzard. EA has very good marketing skills although their games are not truly revolutionary.

Has to be Blizzard. Their entries into RTS (Warcraft and Starcraft.) and RPG (Diablo 1 and 2.) revolutionized those genres. Now they have done the same with the MMO.

Pretty hard to pick. Every one you've all mentioned pretty much delivers the absolute highest quality games out there. I gotta add monolith to the list though.

Well with my history there have been so many.
But my Amiga gave me happy days.

Bullfrog
The bitmap brothers
Graftgold
Lord british and his Ultima series
Westwood

And then moving on to:

idsoftware
Relic
Epic
Remedy
Sid meier & co

I hate games made for a multi player market so none of these appealed.

All time favorite developer; Origin. The Ultima CRPGs were my favorites (Ultima VII still being my all time favorite RPG). It's a shame that EA killed off the studio, but companies like Bethesda and Piranha Bytes have taken up and continued the western/European style RPG mantel very nicely.

In terms of highest number of loveable titles released-- EA should top everyone. This developer is really devoted to making high number of high quality games. But EA is not necessarily the best example of talents.

In terms of talents iD software, Rockstar Games, Valve and Blizzard chronologically should share credits.

By the way Lucasarts "had been" a talented developer till mid nineties.

Well, EA Games is a publisher not a developer, they just publish a lot of really good developers.

I'd have to say either Looking Glass Studios, Black Isle, or Valve.

excuse me, but what has Blizzard done to revolutionize RPGs? Especially with Diablo?

All they managed to do was dumbing down the genre...

Origin Systems, SSI, Bioware, Black Isle...those are the companies that revolutionized RPGs.

Heck Diablo isn't even an RPG...it's an action game

There are many great developers and they've all made their own impact on the gaming industry.

A few that spring to mind are ID Software, 3d Realms (also known as Apogee), Westwood, Blizzard, Valve, Namco, Sega, Nintendo and of course Rockstar.
