In terms of highest number of loveable titles released-- EA should top everyone. This developer is really devoted to making high number of high quality games. But EA is not necessarily the best example of talents. 

In terms of talents iD software, Rockstar Games, Valve and Blizzard chronologically should share credits.

By the way Lucasarts "had been" a talented developer till mid nineties.

Well, EA Games is a publisher not a developer, they just publish a lot of really good developers.

I'd have to say either Looking Glass Studios, Black Isle, or Valve.

Has to be Blizzard. Their entries into RTS (Warcraft and Starcraft.) and RPG (Diablo 1 and 2.) revolutionized those genres. Now they have done the same with the MMO.VirginFingers

excuse me, but what has Blizzard done to revolutionize RPGs? Especially with Diablo?

All they managed to do was dumbing down the genre... 

Origin Systems, SSI, Bioware, Black Isle...those are the companies that revolutionized RPGs.

Heck Diablo isn't even an RPG...it's an action game

All time favorite developer; Origin. The Ultima CRPGs were my favorites (Ultima VII still being my all time favorite RPG). It's a shame that EA killed off the studio, but companies like Bethesda and Piranha Bytes have taken up and continued the western/European style RPG mantel very nicely.BrandXSavior

There are many great developers and they've all made their own impact on the gaming industry.

A few that spring to mind are ID Software, 3d Realms (also known as Apogee), Westwood, Blizzard, Valve, Namco, Sega, Nintendo and of course Rockstar.
