Good choice, I liked westwood because these are the people behind Lands or Lore and Eye of the beholder series. RPG magic.
Those that pick Blizzard and Crytek haven't seen the industry for the last 20 years. I mean crytek have done 1 good game and already they are best developers??? Its called hype. And blizzard create dire single player experiences and create linear multiplayer games. Some on here lack a gaming education instead they swing with the hype.
Someone beat me to Sierra. During Sierra's best years, the face of PC gaming was changed.
Now they are just a publisher, right?

Blizzard and valve only have a few games that where ever any good. when was the last time Blizzard made a good game?...Besides WoW. and all valve has is HL and Counter strike
I would like to vote for Nintendo, I think they have always been pushing the industry forward with new inovative gameplay. Even though I'm no fan of the Wii games I admire Nintendo for taking the risk and doing their own thing. Blizzard and Valve are also really great developers who I don't think have released a single game that isn't at least worth 8/10.

I have to disagree about Bethesda though... they were never really that great in my book. Daggerfall was the high point and now they're just sellouts.
Definately Valve, not only have they revolutionised the FPS genre, Twice! with HL and HL2, soon they are releasing 4 incredible(hopefully) games, HL2 Ep 2, team fortress 2, portal, and left 4 dead.
