OK, well my computer oficially sucks at playing any of the newer games. What are some of the best games that can run on an old computer with a graphics card that isnt very good? Or maybe a new game that works on old computers.ta11on
What kind of computer do you have? If it's bought during the last few years with an integrated chip, your bets are pretty much all the games before 2004.
how old?inyourface_12
Yeap, it would be good if you specify your computer graphic card, hdd space, processor speed, ram, and others...

That's not a bad gaming option to be honest. Of course, if you don't like to play games on minimum (I do it all the time cuz my computer ain't too good), that could be a problem. I think all the games that was released during the Xbox and PS2's lifespan is a good option.
I'll recommend all the good older games I can think of that I've played.

My apologies if there's any good ones I played that I forgot to mention (that your computer could run well enough).
Now are all these good game, or all the games you could come up with? Which is best from this list in your opinion?ta11on
All good ones. I left out games like Starcraft and Diablo 1, for instance, because I just don't like them very much.
The best in the list in my opinion is Riven. Despite that it's ten years old, it's the best adventure game, the best older game, the best game of all time, period. I would suggest playing Myst first, though, if you can get it to run properly (if you can't, read up on its story at Wikipedia before you play Riven to give yourself background info).
if you haven't played the first UNREAL, you really should - still a classic FPS, with some great scenery - ok it can pall in the last quarter, but thats still means you;ve had a lot of good gameplay (it's a long game)
and after you've played the main game you get a set of deathmatches against some very sharp bots for extra VFM
also the Star Trek Elite Force games are good - i reckon you'd be OK with your machien with those
If you enjoy FPS games then have a look for System Shock 2 and Deus Ex. Both have ancient system requirements and will run well with your computer. The graphics are not fantastic but the atmosphere in both games is electric. If you want to find out what BioShock feels like System Shock is the original (and some say better) game that spawned its spiritual successor. If you like a great story, tension and rpg elements you will love this game. One small problem you might have problems finding this game these days as it is always in the top one hundred classic game charts- and therefore sought after.
Deus Ex is the classic rpg style cyber-punk sci-fi game, where the story is so adaptive you can almost do anything you want. Both games will run well on your 'old school' computer. Hope that helps.
Hey!!.....I have an old computer whit this spec: 1.5 GHz Pentium 4, 384 mb SD RAM, Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX 400 64 mb. Does anyone know witch games can I play with this spec.....thxImSoHard93
You'd probably have to go pretty far back in order to find games that would run on this machine.
Red faction 2 should also run just fine. The hitman games (all of em should work okay) half life 2 will run, UT99 will work beautifully and is a blast, james bond nightfire, tribes vengeance, GTA 3, Halo, Honestly thts not a bad setup. You should be alright running most of the older games. Any doubt on them a lot of older games had demos. COD1 and 2 should work. I kinda just listed the games i played haha

You need to switch to XP SP3... trust me on that one.
Anyway, as for your list, these games will work just fine on your system, you'll have a lifetime playing them, as they are pretty good:
All fantastic games, but instead of asking, why not just check any game from 1990-2005 that are critically aclaimed, or that might appeal to you. I'm probably missing a lot of games from that list.
