Diablo Battle Chest, Warcraft 3 Battle Chest, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights.

Also -- there is a wonderful, small company called Spiderweb Software. They make many absolutely astounding roleplaying games that I recommend wholeheartedly. I mean, these games in my opinion blow lots of bigger-budget AAA titles out of the water, and work on computers that are a decade old at this point. Geneforge, Avernum, etc. Check 'em out!

Alien vs Predator 2 (2001) works fine on myolder system. It's a great game btw. Look on Amazon
for it. Also look on Amazon for cheap PC's that have 3.0Ghz processors and at least 2GB of ram,
You can get them for cheap (around $75 to $150 without moniter) I play most games that are current
these days on a PS2 abd ny Xbox 360 such as Fallout 3 and Oblivion though if you upgrade a cheap
used PC that I mentioned above with more ram and a graphics card the cost would be around $200

RuneScape

Try the new little space strategy game that came out a few days ago. FTL: Faster Than Light.

It's a cool little roguelike space strategy game, only $9 and I can guarantee it will run like a charm.

tbh the best way to find out is download a demo of a more recent game, see how it plays, then find out what game engine it uses. Using that as a benchmark, you can judge what games you can and can't play, i.e. if the XCOM demo runs decent enough, then you can problably run Unreal Engine games fairly well (which will greatly expand your options).

Looks similar to my old laptop:

1.8Ghz AMD Turion64 X2, 2Gb RAM, ATI Radeon X1200, Vista 32-bit.

With Vista, I have to play Command and Conquer Generals at 800x600 Low Detail for the game to be playable. With XP Home, I can play the same game at 1024x768 High Detail. BF1942 and Homeworld played okay. But, BF2, Doom 3, and later games all were too sluggish even at Low settings.

Games without 3D-acceleration (eg Red Alert 2) played fine though.

I recently replaced my old lappie with the new ASUS in my sig.

Dude just check out anything on sale over at steam they got older games that are cheap as hell.

Of all the older games suggested, play Half-Life 2 last because every one of those other games you play after Half-Life 2 will seem dull by comparison.
