You need to switch to XP SP3... trust me on that one.
Anyway, as for your list, these games will work just fine on your system, you'll have a lifetime playing them, as they are pretty good:
- Fable: The Lost Chapters (RPG)
- Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 (RPG)
- Torchlight + the mods (RPG)
- Baldur's Gate 2 (RPG)
- Planescape Torment (RPG)
- Gothic 1 & 2 (RPG)
- Elder Scrolls: Morrowind (RPG)
- Half Life + The expansions Opposing Force & Blue Shift (FPS)
- Half Life 2 (FPS)
- Counter Strike 1.6 & Source (FPS)
- Unreal Tournament 2k4 (FPS)
- Deus Ex (Stealth/RPG with FPS elements)
- Diablo 2 (RPG)
- Max Payne 1 & 2 (Third Person Shooter)
- Serious Sam First & Second encounter (FPS)
- Rainbow Six: Raven Shield (FPS)
- Call of Duty 1 + Expansion (FPS)
- Call of Duty 2 (FPS)
- GTA 3, Vice City & San Andreas (Sandbox/Action)
- Age of Empires 3 (RTS)
- Age of Mythology (RTS)
- Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War(RTS)
- Dungeon Siege 1 & 2 (RPG)
- Civilization 4 (RTS)
- Battlefield 1942 (FPS)
- Battlefield 2 (FPS)
- Prince of Persia trilogy: Sands of Time, Warrior Within & The two thrones (Action/Adventure Third Person)
- Splinter Cell trilogy (Stealth/Action)
- Need for Speed ( every game, up until Most Wanted, pick one)
- Neverwinter Nights (RPG)
- Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines (RPG)
- Rome: Total War (RTS)
All fantastic games, but instead of asking, why not just check any game from 1990-2005 that are critically aclaimed, or that might appeal to you. I'm probably missing a lot of games from that list.
good list, but i wouldn't bother trying to run BF2 on that old rig... it runs bad on lowest settings with intel c2d, 2gb ram, nvidia 8400M...oh, so it seems... :DIts a 2008 Thread i mean COME ON THats OLD.
